Hannah brings an incredible combination of compassion, leadership, organization, and heart to our mission. She currently serves as the Manager of Maddy’s Corner Cafe, while also working as the Grant Manager/Administrator for Church on the Rock. She also holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration and carries a genuine passion for helping people and strengthening the community around her.

What immediately stood out to us about Hannah was her energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to serve others. She is the type of person who naturally brings people together, creates welcoming environments, and looks for ways to make a real difference wherever she goes.

Whether it’s through community outreach, relationship building, organizing initiatives behind the scenes, or simply showing kindness and encouragement to others, Hannah embodies the exact spirit Thrive Beyond hopes to build within this organization.

This quote perfectly captures why Thrive Beyond exists.

Too many children are carrying burdens they were never supposed to carry alone. Trauma, instability, neglect, anxiety, self-doubt, loss, and fear can shape the direction of a child’s entire life if nobody steps in to help guide them through it.

At Thrive Beyond, our mission is not just to react when things go wrong. Our mission is to invest in kids early. To mentor them. Encourage them. Teach them emotional resilience, confidence, coping skills, and life skills while surrounding them with people who genuinely care.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to be heard, supported, and reminded that their past does not define their future.

Strong communities are built by strong people… and strong people are built when they are young.

Sam is the owner of The Crafty Club and brings an unmatched level of creativity, passion, leadership, and community spirit to our organization. From the very beginning, her enthusiasm for helping children and strengthening our community has been impossible to ignore.

Sam is more than just a business owner. She is a visionary entrepreneur, a mentor to young creators, and someone who genuinely believes in empowering others through creativity, encouragement, and opportunity. Her passion for building meaningful connections and creating positive experiences for young people aligns perfectly with the mission of Thrive Beyond.

As a board member, Sam will play a major role in helping us continue building strong community partnerships, expanding opportunities for local youth, and creating an environment where children feel supported, valued, and inspired to dream bigger.

As Thrive Beyond continues to grow, I wanted to be transparent with our community about where we currently stand.

Thanks to the incredible support we’ve already received, we still have approximately $1,200 remaining from our initial fundraising efforts. Every dollar has been carefully protected and reserved for building this organization the right way.

Right now, we are entering one of the most important stages of becoming an official nonprofit organization. Our next major steps include CPA assistance and filing for federal 501(c)(3) status so we can continue growing, pursue grants, and properly serve the children and families who will rely on this program.

These final startup costs are estimated to be around $800 total.

I’ve struggled even making this post because I never want people to feel like they’re constantly being asked for money. But I also promised from day one that I would be transparent about both the mission and the process of building Thrive Beyond from the ground up.

To everyone who has supported, shared, encouraged, donated, or simply followed along — thank you. This community has already shown me that people truly care about creating something better for our youth.

We are getting very close to making this vision a reality.

At Thrive Beyond, this mission is bigger than programs, workshops, or events. It’s about making sure children who have experienced hardship, trauma, anxiety, instability, or adversity know that they are seen, valued, supported, and never alone.

Every child deserves guidance.
Every child deserves hope.
Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Our goal is to build a community that steps up for the next generation through mentorship, support, life skills, emotional growth, and meaningful connection. Sometimes the smallest act of kindness or encouragement can completely change the direction of a child’s life.

We are extremely excited to officially welcome Drew Smith to the Thrive Beyond Board.

Drew brings an incredibly unique combination of leadership, business experience, mentorship, faith, and nonprofit knowledge to our organization. From coaching varsity baseball and leading Bible studies for young athletes, to owning and operating businesses here in Lima, Drew has consistently demonstrated what it means to invest in people and pour back into the community.

What makes Drew such an incredible addition to Thrive Beyond is not just his professional background, but his real-world experience building organizations that create impact. Drew previously helped run a nonprofit medical clinic and pharmacy in Maryland that secured local, state, and federal HRSA grant funding to help families and individuals in need. That level of experience and vision is absolutely invaluable as Thrive Beyond continues building a long-term foundation for the youth in our community.

Drew understands leadership. He understands mentorship. He understands structure. Most importantly, he understands service.

As Thrive Beyond continues building mentorship programs, social emotional learning initiatives, community partnerships, and access to resources for youth and families, we are incredibly grateful to have people like Drew helping guide this mission forward.

Nathan brings an extremely unique combination of leadership, education, business experience, and passion for helping children to our organization. He currently teaches at the University of Northwestern Ohio and earned his Master of Business Administration in 2019.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Nathan has built something truly special through his work as a professional Santa Claus — creating unforgettable experiences and genuine joy for children and families throughout our community. His dedication to bringing magic, positivity, and hope into the lives of kids aligns perfectly with the mission of Thrive Beyond.

What stood out most to us was Nathan’s desire to use his experience, creativity, and heart for service to continue giving back to youth beyond the holiday season. His passion for creating meaningful moments for children and helping provide support and resources for families makes him an incredible addition to our board.

Please join us in welcoming Allison Griesdorn, MSW, LSW to the Thrive Beyond Board of Directors. 🖤💛

Allison Leigh is a clinical social worker with the Equestrian Therapy Program at Fassett Farm, where she is building an Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Program focused on helping children navigate anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, and other emotional challenges through experiential, non-traditional therapeutic approaches.

What makes Allison such an incredible addition to Thrive Beyond is her passion for creating safe spaces where children can heal, build confidence, and learn to process life’s challenges in healthy ways. She believes that traditional methods are not always effective for every child, and that unique approaches can create powerful breakthroughs.

After speaking with Thrive Beyond founder Cameron Garver, Allison immediately connected with the organization’s mission and recognized the growing need for accessible youth resources in our community.

In Allison’s words:

“I was very interested in Thrive Beyond once I spoke to Cameron over the phone. I can tell he is so passionate about the mission and I think it is going to be really valuable for our community. I’m excited to share my experiences using non-traditional interventions and learn more about what the youth in our community need.”

“Stop talking about what the good man is like, and just be one.” — Marcus Aurelius

That quote hits harder now than ever.

Our communities do not need more people talking about change. We need people willing to become the change. The youth around us are watching everything we do. They are learning from how we treat people, how we respond to struggle, how we lead, and whether or not we are willing to step up for others when it actually matters.

Being a good man or woman is not about posting the right thing online or pretending to care when it’s convenient. It’s about showing up. Mentoring. Listening. Supporting. Leading. Protecting. Serving. Being present.

The future of our community is sitting in classrooms right now. It’s on basketball courts, in broken homes, in anxious minds, in kids silently struggling while wondering if anybody notices them.

They deserve our absolute best.

At some point we all have to stop talking about what kind of community we want to live in and actually build it together.
