Good afternoon rodeo family,

As we prepare for tomorrow, Good Friday, we wanted to share an important update with you all.

Due to recent changes in law, we will no longer be doing a balloon release. In place of that, we will be honoring Rob with a dove release — a beautiful and meaningful tribute in his memory.

If you still choose to bring balloons, they are absolutely welcome, but will be used for decoration only and will not be released.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we come together to honor Rob in a way that is both respectful and memorable. 🤍

We look forward to seeing each and every one of you tomorrow.

One Week Away 🤍🎈

With heavy hearts and deep love, we invite you to join us as we come together to honor and remember Robert Wyckoff Jr. on Good Friday—his favorite day, a day that has always meant so much to our family.

This year, we’re opening this tradition to the public. Not just as an event, but as a moment… a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate a life that continues to impact so many.

We will gather for a memorial balloon release, followed by a crawfish boil & fish fry, surrounded by family, friends, and everyone who has supported us through this journey.

Rob wasn’t just a part of the rodeo world—he was a light, a leader, and someone people leaned on. This day is about keeping that light alive.

During International Women’s Month, we celebrate the women who lead, inspire, and preserve our history for future generations.

Valeria Howard-Cunningham, CEO/Producer of the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo, reminds us of the importance of honoring legacy while building new opportunities:

“Entering our 42nd year, we honor the legacy of Black cowboys and cowgirls by celebrating their excellence today and building new platforms for tomorrow.”

Today we celebrate women like Valeria who continue to elevate Western heritage, open doors for the next generation, and ensure that the stories of Black cowboys and cowgirls are told and remembered.

Happy International Women’s Month!

One year ago today we laid Robert Wyckoff Jr. to rest.

A brother.
A father.
A cowboy.
A man whose laugh carried across an arena and whose spirit was bigger than the sky above it.

The dirt still remembers his boots.
The rodeo still carries his name.
And the legacy he left behind is still riding strong.

Grief doesn’t disappear with time… it just learns how to ride beside you.

That’s why this foundation exists.
Not just to remember him — but to live the way he did. Loud. Loyal. Alive.

For Rob.
For his daughter.
For the community that loved him.

Life’s short… so Live It Up.

Romans 12:21

“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”

That verse is what the Robert Wyckoff Jr. Rodeo & Legacy Foundation was built on.

What started in heartbreak has grown into something bigger than loss — a movement built on faith, family, community, and the kind of grit that keeps you standing when life tries to knock you down.

Robert Wyckoff Jr. believed in living life wide open.
Boots in the dirt, Hat to the sky, and a Heart for the people around him.

And that spirit still rides with us

Every event.
Every day we choose to overcome the obstacles.
Every person who chooses good when the world feels heavy.

That’s how a legacy lives on — not just in memory, but in the lives it continues to inspire.

Help us keep the good riding forward

See you sooner than later 🤠
