A gentle reminder that the Liberty Lake Better Together Rock Garden is for adding, not taking.
Some artists have shared, with sadness, that memorial rocks, painted to honor people they love, have disappeared.
The nature of public art includes an expected risk of "unwelcomed" edits. No one here is naive enough to think that rocks won't ever go missing because of tiny hands overcome by the most beautiful rock they have ever seen, the honest mistake of simply forgetting to return the rock after holding it for a closer examination, or even the occasional downright intentional thievery.
But, the LLBTF wants to acknowledge that it hurts when art goes missing, so please continue to remind yourself and others that every rock is meant to stay in the garden.
