🌳🦁 Join Us This Saturday! 🦁🌳

The Lexington Lions Branch Club is excited to be part of Reforest the Bluegrass this Saturday and we’d love to see you there!

Reforest the Bluegrass is an urban tree-planting festival (some say the biggest in the country!) focused on planting trees near streams and water bodies to strengthen riparian buffers. These efforts help improve water quality, expand our tree canopy, and boost air quality and overall quality of life in our community.

The Lexington Lions Branch Club had a great Rise & Roar event, and we’re thankful to everyone who played a part. 🦁

Thank you to Lonnie Bedwell for sharing his story and experiences. His message was engaging, honest, and meaningful for those in attendance.

We appreciate Lafayette High School for providing the facility space and supporting community-focused events. 💙💛

👮 Thank you as well to the Lexington Police Department for bringing Operation Copsicle and helping make the event more welcoming and interactive.

You may have noticed the Beyond Vision QR code at the event. That links to Blue Line Media, who are currently working on a film about Lonnie and his story. 🎥

Grateful for the speakers, partners, and attendees who made this a successful morning of connection and community. 🦁✨

🌟 Lion Spotlight: Ann Boyd 🌟

We’re proud to spotlight Ann Boyd, one of the founding members of our Lexington Lions branch club and a dedicated member of the Lexington Lions Club since 2022! 🦁💙 With prior Lions experience in Illinois and Indiana, Ann now serves as 1st Vice President of the Club, where she coordinates engaging speakers for our noon meetings focused on causes like vision, hunger, youth, and disaster relief.

As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, vision is especially close to Ann’s heart. She even presented to the Lexington Lions Club on Braille and adaptive tools, giving members a hands-on look at how students with visual impairments succeed in school.

Ann values the connections she’s made through the Lexington Lions Club and the many ways the club serves our community such as through events and programs like the Lions Club Bluegrass Fair, Kids Sight, the Diabetes Program, and Gifting Night.

Thank you, Ann, for your leadership and commitment to service! 💛🦁

🎉 AMAZING NEWS! 🎉

We are so excited to share that Lafayette High School has generously offered to move the Lonnie Bedwell Motivational Speaking Event on March 21, 2026 (1–4 PM) into their Auditorium! 🙌

Thanks to their kindness, we’re upgrading from the Pavilion to an Auditorium, and we couldn’t be more grateful or excited for this incredible opportunity.

✨ Event Details:
• FREE event for everyone
• Donations will be accepted at the door to support Lonnie Bedwell
• Lonnie’s book will be available for a $15 donation (with the chance to have it signed after the event!)
• Snacks & refreshments available for a $1 donation
• Please note: no food or drinks inside the auditorium
• Cash preferred, but Venmo will be available

We are beyond excited that Lonnie will be here soon and can’t wait to see all of you there. Thank you for all the support—we’ll see you on March 21st! 💙🦁
