We’re proud to welcome Impact Clinical Consulting, LLC as a Pathway Sponsor of The Climb: Columbia, SC!

Right here in Lexington, Impact provides specialized mental health and wellness services for individuals and families, including maternal wellness and perinatal mental health support. Their team includes Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) clinicians with experience supporting parents through concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, parenting, and family transitions.

Impact Clinical Consulting will be joining us at the event with a resource table, giving families an opportunity to meet their team and learn more about the support available locally.

We’re so grateful to have a community partner helping make the path to mental health support more visible and accessible for families.

We’ve been dreaming up a new way to bring even more of our Lexington community into The Climb this year… 💛

Introducing Lexington Loves Families.

The idea is pretty simple: we have so many incredible local businesses and organizations that care about the families who live here. We want to bring them together, celebrate them, and give them easy ways to show that love in action.

And we’d love for YOUR business to be part of it.

There’s no set dollar amount and no one-size-fits-all way to participate. Donate a gift card or experience to our silent auction. Send something special for our participant bags. Contribute a product or service. Dream up something fun with us. Big or small, we want this to feel accessible to the businesses that make Lexington feel like home.

This year, Lexington Loves Families will help us make The Climb: Columbia, SC on October 4 even more special for the families who attend while also helping us raise awareness and support for perinatal mental health.

We’ll also be highlighting the businesses that join us as part of our Lexington Loves Families community. 💛

Own a business? Work for one that would be a great fit? Know someone we should reach out to?

Tag them below, share this post with them, or send us a message.

Let’s show everyone just how much Lexington loves families.

We are so grateful to welcome Lexington Health back as a Trailblazer Sponsor of PSI’s The Climb: Columbia, SC — for the fourth year in a row!

For four years, Lexington Health has continued to show up for this event and for the moms and families in our community. Their continued partnership sends an important message to parents navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood: your mental health matters, and you deserve support.

Funds raised through The Climb support Postpartum Support International and help make resources and support more accessible to families, including financial assistance for counseling and postpartum doula care here in South Carolina.

We are incredibly grateful to Lexington Health for continuing to stand alongside us in this work year after year.

Thank you, Lexington Health, for helping families know they never have to climb alone. đź’›

We’re at $2,400 of our $10,000 goal. 💛

That means our community has already raised 24% of our goal for The Climb and with October 4 quickly approaching, we still have $7,600 to go.

But this isn’t just about reaching a number.

It’s about what that money can DO.

It can help a mom access mental health care she otherwise couldn’t afford.
It can help connect a struggling parent with support.
It can help make sure families across South Carolina don’t have to navigate perinatal mental health challenges alone.

You’ve seen some of those stories through our Behind the Smile series. You’ve heard from mothers who found healing because someone made care accessible when they needed it most.

That is why we Climb.

If you’ve been following along, sharing these stories, or planning to join us on October 4, would you consider helping us move that number today?

💛Donate $10, $25, $50 — whatever feels doable.
đź’›Share this post and tell your friends why this matters.
đź’›Ask your workplace or a local business to support The Climb.
đź’›Create your own fundraising page and invite your people to join you.

$2,400 down. $7,600 to go.

Let’s see what this community can do before we meet at the starting line. 💛

Behind the Smile đź’™

Today’s story is an important reminder of what access to the right care can mean for a mother and her family.

In April 2014, my husband and I were holding our newborn son, in awe of his tiny little fingers and innocent whimpers. Everything during my pregnancy and delivery had been relatively straightforward, and we were thankful to be on the other side of labor.

Fast forward nine months, and all of a sudden, like a brick wall hit me, I was drowning in depression.

I couldn’t muster the strength to get dressed in the mornings, make dinner for my family, or even reach out to anyone for help. I was lost. Waves of anger would strike me, followed by extreme guilt and feelings of being an inadequate mother.

After talking with my obstetrician and calling Postpartum Support Charleston’s hotline, I was on the road to recovery.

Two years later, we welcomed our second son. This time, I was prepared for the worst. I had my guard up from day one, ready to fight off any depression that would come my way.

For months, I thought I was “fighting” my depression away, until I wasn’t able to fight it any longer.

I had serious anxiety about being a stay-at-home mom. I was angry, and the guilt that followed that anger and rage was overwhelming. Then came the intrusive thoughts: horrific, scary, unwanted thoughts of hurting myself and my boys.

I knew I needed more help. And quick.

Through a postpartum support group, I was given a grant to see a psychiatrist. Without that grant, I would have never been able to get the help I needed to save my life.

I was diagnosed with Bipolar II and began a road to recovery that lasted several months, with medication changes, therapy, psychiatry, and immense support from my friends and family.

“This path to survival is something I will never forget. I hope to be that shining light for another mother who is enveloped by her own darkness.

I truly believe that it takes a village to raise our children.”

đź’™ And this is one of the reasons we Climb.

A grant helped make psychiatric care accessible when she desperately needed it. Today, Postpartum Support International-SC also provides financial assistance to help remove barriers to perinatal mental health care and money raised through The Climb helps make programs like this possible.

When you donate to The Climb, you aren’t just helping us reach a fundraising goal. You’re helping make sure another mom has somewhere to turn when she needs help.

Because sometimes the village isn’t just there to help raise the baby.

Sometimes the village helps save the mom, too. đź’™

Come as you are. Bring the kids. Bring a friend. Walk with us. đź’™

Please share and help us spread the word! Every share helps us reach another parent who may need to know this community exists.
