Merry Christmas from Troop 382 🎄🎅

Today is all about joy, family, laughter, and making memories — the kind that stick with you long after the wrapping paper is gone. It’s the excitement of the morning, the comfort of being together, and the simple happiness found in giving, sharing, and slowing down.

In Scouting, that Christmas spirit shows up in the way our Scouts help others, look out for their friends, and step up with kindness and good cheer. Those lessons matter today just as much as they do the rest of the year.

We hope your day is filled with smiles, full hearts, good food, and plenty of holiday fun. Thank you for being part of our Troop 382 family.

Wishing all our Scouts, families, and leaders a very Merry Christmas! 🎁✨🎄

Christmas Eve is a time to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the people and moments that matter most 🎄

In Scouting, this season reminds us of the values we work toward all year — service, kindness, preparedness, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. It’s about showing gratitude, lending a hand where it’s needed, and being present for family, friends, and community.

As the day winds down and the excitement builds, we’re proud of the growth our Scouts have shown this year and the positive impact they continue to make.

Wishing our Troop 382 families a peaceful, meaningful Christmas Eve filled with warmth, reflection, and togetherness.

Crestwood Christian Church is hosting Christmas Eve services and warmly invites our Scout families and the community to join them in worship and celebration. Whether you are a regular attendee or visiting for the first time, all are welcome.

If you’re looking for a troop where Scouts are encouraged to grow, leaders are involved, families are supportive, and fun is part of the process, Troop 382 is worth checking out. New Scouts are always welcome, and there’s no pressure — just come see what we’re about.

One of the things people don’t always realize about Scouting is how much safety training is built into everything we do. Before Scouts ever strike a match, pick up a knife, or head out on a hike, they learn how to do it the right way. Planning, awareness, and looking out for each other are part of every adventure — and that’s what lets the fun happen safely 🔥🥾

If you’re curious what that looks like in real life, Troop 382 meets weekly and is always happy to welcome visitors who want to see Scouting in action.

Today marks the first day of winter ❄️

In Scouting, winter isn’t a pause — it’s part of the adventure. It’s learning how to prepare, how to adapt, and how to take care of yourself and others when conditions change. Cold weather teaches planning, resilience, and teamwork in a very real way.

As the season shifts, our Scouts keep moving forward — sharpening outdoor skills, working toward rank advancement, giving back through service, and building confidence that carries far beyond the colder months.

Winter reminds us that growth doesn’t stop when things get harder. It just looks a little different.

Winter Scout Tip: Dress in layers and stay dry. Moisture is the fastest way to lose body heat, so bring extra socks, avoid cotton when possible, and adjust layers as activity levels change.

Here’s to a season of learning, leadership, and showing up — no matter the weather.

Community service is a core part of Scouting. It’s how Scouts give back, learn responsibility, and earn service hours that count toward rank advancement.

One of our most recent service projects was supporting Lady Veterans Connect in Wi******er during their annual fundraiser. Lady Veterans Connect is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support and transitional services for female veterans throughout the year.

Troop 382 had the honor of attending the fundraiser and showing up in support of their mission. Our Scouts helped in ways that mattered, learned why the work exists, and saw firsthand how community involvement makes a real difference.

This is just one example of the service projects Troop 382 participates in throughout the year. From local outreach to regional partnerships, our Scouts are regularly involved in meaningful projects that strengthen our community while helping them grow, lead, and advance in Scouting.

Service isn’t an add-on here. It’s part of who we are.

The Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1910 with a focus on character, citizenship, and fitness. More than a century later, those values are still at the core of what Scouting teaches today. Troop 382 is still one of the many troops that follow the core values of what scouting teaches our scouts and we have fun doing it !
