That’s a wrap!
Our 2025 season came to an end yesterday. It was supposed to be an early start but the first game was delayed an hour due to rain the previous night. Unfortunately we were already in route. Ended up being a 12 hour day at the fields. These girls battled hard, going 1-1 in pool play and earning the #1 seed in the Silver bracket. After a 3-game break we won our first bracket game, coming from behind to win in the last inning thanks to a walk-off rocket by Lilly Sipper with the bases loaded.

On to the Championship game! We battled a good team, played great defense but the bats went cold and lost in the 6th inning earning runner-up in the Silver bracket.

With the last tournament completed, that marks the end of the season for these girls and this team. Half the team has to move up to 10U. It was an emotional ending to our season, several fought back tears while others - yours included, could not. I’ve said several times this year, I don’t have one daughter in this team, I have a dozen. I love these girls like my own and I hope I made as big of an impact on them as they have on me. I want nothing but success and confidence, not just in softball but life, for each of them going forward.

When we decided to have to have this team, about this time last year, I wasn’t sure how the selected girls would perform and respond to my coaching style. I had hopes but we only had a handful that had played travel ball before. All we wanted was growth, confidence, and continued love of the game. Despite the record, I think we succeeded beyond expectations. They quickly bonded and became a family and I could not be more proud, not only of the players, but the parents, siblings, and grandparents all coming together for one common goal.

Our post game celebration was cut short due to lightning, but I’d like to thank each young lady, coach (especially Salem and Riley), parent, sibling, and grandparent for all of the support, faith, and believing in these girls and team. They may not remember the times or rings 5 years from now, but they will remember the support you have all shown. I’m proud and honored to be a part of this special group. From the signing day last December until today, I’m honored to be a small part of their story. I will miss each one of them dearly but cannot wait to watch each of them succeed in life! Once a Flying Pig, always a Flying Pig!Let’s go Pigs!

Our gritty girls competed in a Triad Top Gun tournament this past weekend for our 7th tournament of this Fall season. The girls were 2-0 in bracket play, scoring 20 and only allowing 6, earning the #1 seed in the Gold Bracket. After a lengthy break, these girls won the first bracket play game 12-7 advancing to the championship game. They played hard, never falling behind, winning the Gold championship 13-6. Scoring 45 amd allowing 19 on the day.

Very proud of these young ladies! Battled hard all day, even coming from behind, and playing a little too hard during our break. They were all exhausted but well worth the W! Every single player made key defensive plays and BIG at bats!

So far this Fall season we are 20-6 with (2) Gold Championships, (2) 2nd place, (3) 3rd place all in the Gold Bracket. Quite the improvement over our Spring season (18-16).

Only one tournament remains for this team and season. Next weekend we will wrap up the year at the Winter National Championships in Concord.

GOLD BRACKET CHAMPIONS!!! Man that feels so good to say and post! So incredible proud of these girls, coaches, and families. Thank you for the effort, confidence, and believing in the process girls! It was a long 12-hour day but easily our best tournament on both sides of the field, going 4-0, scoring 55 runs and only allowing 7…all day! When they faltered, they rallied around each other and overcame. Each girl earned an MVP at some point during the day, not sure many teams can say that. From double plays, fly balls to the outfield, plays at the plate, clutch moneyball hits, and girls hitting their way out of a slump! Now we know what it takes to win, let’s continue to work hard and grow and win some more!!!

Also thank you Salem and Rylie for helping out! You definitely helped with the enthusiasm in the dug out and between games!

That’s a wrap! Our gritty girls finished the 2025 Spring season at the Top Gun Zone Qualifier in Concord on 6/21 and it was a HOT one! They started a little slow but then they were as hot as the temperature, only allowing 8 runs while scoring 19 in pool play, earning the #3 seed in the Gold bracket. We won our first bracket game against the #2 seed 13-6 and we were onto the championship game. The girls played hard earning the Runner Up hardware. Well done girls!

For the season we finished 18-16 which is great for a team that has only been together since January, losing 5 or 6 times to an undefeated team. Scoring a lot more runs (332) than we allowed all year, statistically these girls have exceeded my expectations and I could not be more proud of the growth and development these girls have shown us this season, as a player, teammate, and young lady. These girls and their families (parents, siblings, grandparents, & friends) came together as strangers but have formed one big supportive & loving Pig family and it is truly beautiful to be a part of.

The end of the season is bittersweet. I’m ready for a break but I am going to miss seeing their smiling faces and laughter on a weekly basis. We are going to take several weeks off to rest and recharge before getting back at it for the fall season. They deserve the break and earned it.

I'd like to thank each girl and their amazing families for joining our team and family. I look forward to getting back at it in August! I'd also like to thank our sponsors from the Spring season, please consider reaching out to them when you have a need that they can fill (not sure why a link to their page is not working).

We are SO CLOSE!!! Played hard in the pool play games, only allowing 12 runs while scoring 23, landing us as the 5th seed in the gold bracket. We witnessed our team battle back in the gold bracket this past weekend, we were down 5-9 in top of the 5th inning, scoring 7 runs as time expired, but we were the visiting team and had to allow the bigger and older team their last chance to bat. We battled, the girls showed their grit and fought hard getting two outs. A few well placed hits and a couple mistakes and they got the go ahead run to win.

It was a tough loss but I am so proud of the way these young girls battled back and gave that team a run for W. They did not shut down and throw in the towel, proving the hard work and longer practices they are putting in are working. I hope they are holding their head up as high as I am proud of them, this family and team is simply wonderful.

Sadly we only have (3) more scheduled tournaments before a well deserved summer break. These girls have earned a win and I hope one of, if not more, of the next tournaments they will get what they deserve and worked for.
