😭😭😭One of the last photos of the passengers boarding American Airlines Flight 77 on September 11 2001. It was hijacked and flown into the Pentagon later that morning.......

One of the final photographs from the morning of September 11, 2001, shows passengers calmly boarding American Airlines Flight 77 before departure from Washington Dulles International Airport. Nobody in the image appears frightened or aware of the terrible events that would soon unfold across the United States.

Later that morning, the aircraft was hijacked and deliberately flown into the Pentagon, becoming part of the devastating September 11 attacks. The photograph is heartbreaking because it captures an ordinary travel moment frozen in time, only hours before tragedy changed countless lives forever.

More than two decades later, images connected to that day still affect people around the world. They remind us how quickly normal life can change and why the victims of September 11 continue to be remembered with sadness, respect, and compassion. Their stories remain an important part of American history. 🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 — Never Forget. 🗽Honoring the strength of first responders and families 😭💔The Historical Stories

A 9/11 history enthusiast highlighted two damaged Ground Zero remnants that many visitors overlook: the Koenig Sphere and the Liberty Street pedestrian bridge. The Koenig Sphere survived the Twin Towers’ collapse and was restored in damaged form, while the bridge still shows dents, holes, and gashes believed to be from the attack.
