What happens when generations come together?

In this special clip, one of our grantees, Africano Waltham / African Cultural Services, shares how support from the I'm Still Here Foundation is helping create meaningful opportunities for connection across generations.

These programs do more than bring people together—they build understanding, foster relationships, and help people living with dementia remain engaged, valued, and connected within their communities.

We're proud to support organizations that are creating spaces where stories, culture, and experiences can be shared from one generation to the next.

Thank you to Waltham Africano for the incredible work you do and for showing the power of connection in action.

We are thrilled to celebrate one of our grant recipients, Evan Bass Zeisel , on the publication of his new children's book, "How to Play With a Grandma"!

Made possible in part through a grant from the I'm Still Here Foundation, this heartwarming story follows a young girl named Lizzie as she visits her grandmother living with Alzheimer's disease. Through playful moments and practical tips, the book helps children learn how to connect, engage, and create meaningful experiences with loved ones living with dementia.

Evan wrote this book to shift the conversation from what dementia takes away to what remains possible through love, relationships, and understanding. By focusing on strengths, connection, and joy, "How to Play With a Grandma" reflects the very values our Foundation strives to promote every day.

We are honored to have supported this project and are excited to see it reaching families, caregivers, educators, and communities everywhere.

Congratulations, Evan, on this wonderful achievement! 💜

After being diagnosed with dementia, Norman Law stopped painting. A Rhode Island School of Design graduate, Norman had been an avid painter and designer his entire life, with his work displayed in art shows and museums.

"It was his passion, but I worried he would never paint again,” said his wife Susan.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who served our country with courage and sacrifice.

At the I'm Still Here Foundation, we also recognize the importance of connection, storytelling, and reflection during moments of remembrance. Sharing memories, music, photos, and stories can spark conversation and create meaningful moments together across generations.

As we gather with family and loved ones this weekend, may we take time to remember those who gave so much and celebrate the bonds that keep their stories alive. ❤️🤍💙
