Effective risk management is a shared responsibility - and finding the right balance between board engagement and unnecessary involvement in day-to-day operations can be tricky.

In the "How to Engage with Your Board on Risk" session, you will learn practical ideas for building stronger board-staff partnership around identifying, discussing, and responding to organizational risk.

Don't miss this breakout session from Kara Legg, Associate Attorney with McBrayer PLLC, at the Kentucky Risk Management Summit on August 27.

Congrats to Tawanda Owsley as the new CEO, Community Foundation of Louisville!

The Community Foundation of Louisville is proud to welcome our new incoming President and CEO, Tawanda Owsley.

Tawanda joins us from Hosparus Health and has led multidisciplinary teams, strengthened brand strategy and strategic messaging, advanced fundraising initiatives, and built meaningful relationships with donors, board members, community leaders, and other key stakeholders. Her nearly 25 years of leadership as a nonprofit executive span a background of philanthropy, marketing, communications, community engagement, and organizational growth.

Following a national search led by a Community Foundation of Louisville Board-appointed search committee, Tawanda was selected to build upon the legacy and future of the Community Foundation of Louisville.

"I am deeply honored to accept the opportunity to serve as President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Louisville," shares Tawanda. "This organization has a remarkable legacy of bringing people, ideas, and resources together to create meaningful change. I look forward to working alongside the Foundation’s board, staff, fundholders, donors, and community partners to expand opportunity, inspire generosity, and help build a stronger future for Louisville and the region we call home.”
