🇺🇸 Lewistown is celebrating America's 250th birthday and you are invited!

July 3rd and 4th we are taking over downtown and the fairgrounds with two days of live music, food, history, parade, Native American dancers, a Rattlesnake Jake shootout, and a fireworks show that will light up the entire Big Sky.

🎶 Start the celebration early — because July 4th weekend in Lewistown kicks off Friday night!

Before the pancake breakfast, before the parade, before the fireworks, there is Friday July 3rd on Main Street. And it starts with live music at 2nd and Main at 7:00 PM.

Come downtown, bring your friends and family, and kick off America's 250th Anniversary weekend the right way. Good music, good people, and the kind of summer evening that reminds you exactly why you love living in Central Montana. 🏔️

This is just the beginning of an unforgettable two-day celebration. The full schedule is packed with history, family fun, and community pride all weekend long.

And this year we are celebrating something truly special. America's 250th birthday!

We are doing it the only way we know how, with good food, live music, real history, and everyone in the community.

🇺🇸 IT'S OFFICIAL. Lewistown is celebrating America's 250th Anniversary in a BIG way.

Mark your calendars for July 3rd and 4th, 2026, because Lewistown, Montana is throwing one of the most memorable Independence Day celebrations in the history of our community. Two full days of history, music, food, family, and fireworks right here in the heart of Big Sky Country.

Here is everything happening:

FRIDAY JULY 3rd — Downtown Lewistown
7:00 PM — Kick off the weekend with live music at 2nd and Main. Come ready to dance! 🎶

SATURDAY JULY 4th — Morning on Main Street
8:00 AM — Pancake Breakfast on the 200 block of Main Street 🥞
10:00 AM — Chamber's Cake and Pie Auction on the 300 block 🥧
11:00 AM — Parade on the 300 block, followed by a live re-enactment of the legendary shootout with Rattlesnake Jake!
Following the Parade — Ice Cream Social and Open House at the Museum, 408 East Main 🍦

SATURDAY JULY 4th — Afternoon and Evening at the Fairgrounds

2:00 PM — Opening Ceremony featuring the Presentation of Flags, Recognition of Veterans, and a live re-enactment of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence 🇺🇸

Living History Fair inside the Trade Center — Step back in time and immerse yourself in the history of Central Montana from 1776 to the present. Discover the lives, stories, and skills of trappers, miners, mountain men, pioneers, homesteaders, farmers, ranchers, soldiers, airmen, and entrepreneurs.

All Afternoon and Evening at the Fairgrounds:
Vibrant performances by Native American Dancers. Elders sharing storytelling in Cree and Chippewa languages. Step inside authentic teepees for engaging teachings about their history and significance. Live music in the gazebo. Traditional games for the kids. Food trucks serving up delicious treats all afternoon and evening. Outdoor movies in the gazebo area starting at 6:00 PM. 🎬

At Dusk — Fireworks! A spectacular show visible from nearly anywhere in Lewistown. 🎆

Make a full weekend of it! Camp at the Fairgrounds through Fergus County Events and Facilities or next door at Mountain Acres. Explore our unique downtown shops. Float Spring Creek, hike the mountain trails, and enjoy everything Lewistown has to offer.
