Summer went fast and fall is going even faster. Before we know it, we'll be shopping for turkeys and digging out holiday decorations. Fortunately, noted floral designer Chuck Chatham's presentation at the Lewisburg Garden Club meeting on Monday, November 10 will help ease end-of-the-year stress of make visit the Lewisburg Garden Club meeting on Monday, November 10, bringing floral designer Chuck Chatham will make the visit the Lewisburg Garden Club where he will share his fresh ideas for seasonally-appropriate floral arrangements and inspire each of us to take time out to make our own floral designs for the seasons ahead. He will include four fall arrangements and two "celebratory" arrangements. All will be raffled off at the end of the end of the meeting.

You don't have to be a member of the LGC to enjoy Chuck's presentation. Our meetings are open to the public. We gather in the Fellowship Hall of the St. John's United Church of Christ at 1050 Buffalo Road, just west of Lewisburg. A social period with a light buffet and beverages begins at 12:30 and is followed by a business meeting at 1 p.m. The presentation begins at approximately 1:45 p.m. You are welcome to arrive at 12:30 p.m. and stay for all our activities. Or come at 1:45 p.m. for the presentation.

Summer went fast and fall is going even faster. Before we know it, we'll be shopping for turkeys and digging out holiday ornaments. Fortunately, on Monday, November 10, noted floral designer Chuck Chatham will be on hand at the Lewisburg Garden Club’s November meeting with a presentation filled with inspiration and fresh design ideas helping us all move more confidently through 2025’s busy final months.

During his program, Mr. Chatham will demonstrate how to create four autumn-themed designs and two “celebratory” arrangements. All six will be raffled off at the end on the meeting.

As always, Lewisburg Garden Club meetings are open to the public. We gather in the Fellowship Hall of St. John's United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Road, just west of Lewisburg. A social period with a light buffet and beverages begins at 12:30 p.m. and is followed by a business meeting at 1 p.m. The presentation starts at approximately 1:45 p.m. You are welcome to arrive at 12:30 p.m. and stay for the entire program. Or come at 1:45 p.m. for the presentation and the raffle that follows.

Most gardening enthusiasts plant flowers for their beauty and aroma. Vanessa DeVett, owner and operator of The Petite Garden in Mifflinburg, grows edible flowers for their nutritional value. "Fresh, locally grown microgreens, edible flowers, and specialty produce," Vanessa says. "Our products are hand-harvested, grown without chemicals using organic, heirloom, non-GMO seeds, and available the day after harvest. It doesn't get any fresher than that!"

Want to know more about these tasty, healthy plants and maybe grow them yourself? Come to the Lewisburg Garden Club's meeting on Monday, October 13 for Vanessa's presentation as she shares her knowledge about growing these special plants. She will bring a variety of microgreens for Garden Club members and guests to sample during her program. A microgreens grow kit, donated by Vanessa, will be raffled off at the end of her presentation. The Petite Garden's gourmet snacks will be available for sale, while microgreens can be ordered.

The Garden Club's meeting begins with a social gathering at 12:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting at 1 p.m. Vanessa's presentation begins at approximately 1:45. p.m. The meeting is open to the public. You are welcome to attend the entire meeting or come just for the presentation. The club meets in the Fellowship Hall of St. john's United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Road, west of Lewisburg.

This coming Monday, September 8, the Lewisburg Garden Club kicks off its fall season with a presentation by Mark Spiro, Bucknell Associate Professor of Biology and Faculty Director of the Bucknell University Farm. Professor Spiro, who spearheaded the on-campus farm initiative, will discuss on-going development at the 5-acre farm and how it benefits students, faculty, and area residents. The meeting begins at 12:30 p.m. with refreshments. The club's business meeting starts at 1 p.m., followed by Prof. Spiro's presentation. The public, as always, is invited to attend. The meeting is held in the Fellowship Hall at St. John's United Church of Christ on Route 192 just west of Lewisburg.

VIRGINIA BLUEBELLS, wild ginger, hepatica, columbine, and rue anemone...these are just a few of the wildflowers that grow at Dale's Ridge Trail this time of year.
The Lewisburg Garden Club welcomes Irmgard Seidl-Adams to its next meeting on Monday, May 12, where she will talk about the many wildflowers at Dale's Ridge. Seidl-Adams, who holds a doctorate in plant science from Penn State, has been photographing flowers and observing their insect visitors as long as she can remember.
The public is invited to attend the presentation, which will be held in the Fellowship Hall of St. John's United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Road, just west of Lewisburg. Come at 12:30 p.m. for a social gathering with light refreshments. Stay for the Club's 1 p.m. business meeting and Seidl-Adams' program, which begins at 1:45 p.m. Come early for all of the afternoon's activities or arrive at 1:45 for Seidl-Adams' presentation.
Then plan an outing at Dale's Ridge and track down those wildflowers.

On Monday, March 10, Lewisburg Garden Club members Ann and David Smit will present THE JAPANESE GARDEN at approximately 1:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of St. John's United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Road. Their program will explore this centuries-old art form that focuses on the harmonious integration of natural elements and a deep connection with the environment.
The Smits will share their knowledge of various aspects of creating and maintaining Japanese gardens. They will discuss the essential elements always found in these gardens, such as water, rocks and paths, and how the gardens evolve from season to season.
All Lewisburg Garden Club programs and presentations are open to the public. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. for light refreshments and conversation. The business meeting begins at 1:00 p.m; followed by the Smits' presentation at 1:45 p.m.—
