🐾 Meet Ginger! 🐾

This adorable little mama is finally ready to start the next chapter of her life—and she's hoping it includes a family of her very own. ❤️

When Ginger first came to us with her six puppies, she was scared, protective, and unsure if she could trust anyone. But once she realized she was safe, her true personality quickly began to shine. Now, she's one of the sweetest, cuddliest, most affectionate dogs you could ever hope to meet.

At just under 30 pounds and estimated to be around 2 years old, Ginger is the perfect size for adventures, couch snuggles, and everything in between. She loves other dogs, walks nicely on leash, comes when called, sleeps quietly in her crate, and would happily spend every moment following her favorite person around. Belly rubs? Absolutely. Being your shadow? Even better.

Ginger is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She's an easy-going girl whose biggest dream is finding a family.

📣 June is Canine Megaesophagus (ME) Awareness Month 📣

This month, we're helping raise awareness about a condition that has become very personal to us here at Lewis County Canine Company.

Meet Chuck. ❤️

At almost 3 months old, Chuck has been a fighter since the day he entered rescue. Honestly, we're not entirely sure how he survived before coming to us.

Chuck was surrendered to us after being born to a dog owned by a homeless individual who quickly realized they could not properly care for a litter of puppies. Thankfully, they made the difficult but loving decision to ask for help, and mom has since been spayed to prevent future litters.

For weeks, we knew something wasn't right. Chuck struggled to gain weight, had frequent regurgitation episodes, and just wasn't thriving like his littermates. After extensive veterinary care and diagnostics, Chuck has officially been diagnosed with Megaesophagus (ME).

Megaesophagus occurs when the esophagus loses its ability to move food efficiently into the stomach. Instead, food can sit in the esophagus and be regurgitated back up. One of the biggest risks for dogs with ME is aspiration pneumonia, which can occur if food or water enters the lungs.

While a diagnosis of Megaesophagus can sound overwhelming, it is manageable, and many dogs go on to live happy, fulfilling lives with the proper care.

For Chuck, that means:
🐾 Eating in an upright position so gravity can help move food into his stomach
🐾 Remaining upright after meals
🐾 Careful monitoring of food consistency and feeding routines
🐾 Extra vigilance for signs of aspiration pneumonia

And honestly? Chuck doesn't seem to know he's any different.

He is one of the sweetest puppies we've ever met. He is a complete velcro dog who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He loves snuggling under blankets, curling up with his foster siblings, and soaking up every ounce of affection he can get. Wherever you go, Chuck wants to be right there with you.

His journey is just beginning, and while we continue to learn exactly what management plan works best for him, we hope sharing his story helps spread awareness about this condition and shows that a diagnosis is not the end of a happy life.

We can't believe we're saying this, but neither of these sweet boys have received a single application yet.

Meanwhile, two of their sisters have already found their forever families, and their brother Gus has a meet-and-greet tomorrow. These boys are watching their siblings get picked while they continue waiting for someone to notice them.

These adorable boys are affectionate, playful, curious, and full of personality. They love people, love attention, and are always ready for an adventure or a cuddle session. Whether they're bouncing around the yard showing off their goofy puppy antics or curling up for a nap after playtime, they are exactly what most families are looking for in a puppy.

At just 8 weeks old, they're ready to start their next chapter and learn all about the world alongside their forever people.

Next Saturday 6/13, several incredible dogs and puppies will officially be available for adoption through Lewis County Canine Company! While their listings are still being finalized, we couldn't wait to give everyone a sneak peek at some of the amazing dogs looking for their forever families.

❤️ Ginger is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs just under 30 pounds. After raising her puppies, this sweet mama is finally ready to be someone's baby. Ginger is a total velcro dog who wants to be by her person's side as much as possible. She does well with other dogs, doesn't seem bothered by cats or goats, and would love a family looking for a loyal companion and best friend.

🌟 Amari is estimated to be around 2 years old and has truly blossomed during her time in foster care. She is affectionate, quiet, loyal, and incredibly well-mannered. With great recall and a gentle personality, Amari is the kind of dog that quickly becomes an irreplaceable member of the family.

🎾 Rolo & Chunk are two fun-loving brothers who came to us as owner surrenders. Believed to be cattle dog mixes, these boys are full of personality, energy, and affection. They love to play, enjoy attention, and are sure to keep their future families smiling.

🐶 Rosie's Litter is growing up fast and will soon be ready to find families of their own! These six adorable puppies—Evie, Allie, Millie, Skipper, Fisher, and Banks—are playful, curious, confident, affectionate, and just beginning to discover the world around them. Whether they're exploring something new, wrestling with their siblings, or curling up for a nap, they are everything you'd expect from happy, well-socialized puppies. We're also eagerly awaiting their DNA results and look forward to learning more about their breed mix in the coming weeks!

We know her perfect person is out there. They just haven't found her yet.

When Pepper first came into rescue, she was scared, underweight, and unsure of the world around her. Watching her transform in her foster home has been nothing short of amazing. Every day she grows a little braver, a little happier, and a little more confident.

The truth is, Pepper isn't looking for someone perfect. She's looking for someone willing to take a chance on her.

Give her that chance, and you'll gain so much more than a dog. You'll gain a best friend, a loyal companion, a snuggle buddy, and a little shadow that just wants to be wherever you are.

Pepper loves spending time with her people. She loves running and exploring, investigating all the sights and smells the world has to offer, and then checking back in with her favorite humans. She has also discovered that playing with other dogs can be a lot of fun! She enjoys chasing and running with dog friends both bigger and smaller than herself and has really come out of her shell through those positive interactions.

One of our favorite things about Pepper is watching her curiosity grow. The dog who once approached everything with fear is now learning that adventures can be fun, people can be kind, and life can be good. Her goofy, affectionate personality shines brighter every day.

Pepper may need a little time to warm up to new people, but once you've earned her trust, she loves with her whole heart. The bond you build with her will be one of the most rewarding relationships you'll ever have.

Meet Elvis, Gus Gus, Presley, and James Brown—four sweet, playful puppies who are looking for families to share all of life's adventures with. At approximately 8 weeks old, these pups are everything people dream of when they imagine bringing home a puppy: curious, outgoing, affectionate, and always ready to explore something new.

These little ones absolutely love people and want nothing more than to be included in whatever you're doing. Whether it's exploring the backyard, learning new tricks, going on adventures, or curling up for a nap after a busy day of play, they're ready to be your constant companion. They are incredibly sweet and snuggly, but don't let those puppy-dog eyes fool you—they are also full of the playful chaos that makes puppyhood so much fun!

And if you've ever watched a Boxer puppy bounce around, you'll know exactly what we're talking about. These babies definitely inherited some of that wonderfully goofy, clumsy Boxer energy, and watching them hop, pounce, and tumble through life is guaranteed to make you smile.

According to their DNA results, these pups are a mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Boxer, and American Staffordshire Terrier, with a splash of several other breeds mixed in. While we can never guarantee adult size, we expect them to grow into medium-to-large dogs who will need families committed to training, socialization, exercise, and all the responsibilities that come with raising a puppy.

we’ve been caring for several puppies that aren't quite ready for adoption yet. These little ones are growing, learning, getting healthy, and waiting for their spay/neuter appointments before they can officially start looking for their forever families.

Today we're giving you a little sneak peek at some of the faces you'll be seeing soon. ❤️

We can't wait to introduce each of them and share their personalities with you. Some are sweet, some are spicy, some are professional troublemakers, and all of them are pretty adorable.

A huge thank you to Chehalis Tractor Supply for hosting us yesterday and to everyone who stopped by to say hello, meet our dogs, and support rescue! ❤️

We're thrilled to share that two of our pups found their forever families! 🐾

Sweet Claire and Lola are officially headed off to their next chapters, and while we'll miss seeing their faces, we couldn't be happier for them. Both girls have come so far during their time in rescue, and seeing them find families of their own is exactly why we do what we do.
