My name is Addison and I am 15-years-old and a member of the Hollymount 4-H club in Lewes, Delaware. I am reaching out to request your support for a community service project that I am passionate about—Birthday Bundles.
For many food-insecure families struggling to make ends meet, celebrating a child’s birthday is simply not possible. My “Birthday Bundles” project was created to change that by providing the basic supplies needed to make every child feel special on their birthday. These bundles will be distributed through local food banks and school-based food programs for food-insecure students.
Each Birthday Bundle will include:
• A disposable cake pan (with lid included for packing purposes)
• A box of cake mix
• One can of Sprite or Cola (used as an egg and oil substitute)
• A can of frosting
• Candles
• Balloons
• A birthday banner
My goal is to collect enough supplies to create and donate at least 250 birthday bundles to families in need. I am collecting donations through my school, church, 4-H meetings, dance school, and neighborhood, and I am also creating a social media campaign to raise awareness and support.
I am working on this as my Diamond Clover project, which is a service learning project that enables 4-Hers to demonstrate life skills including leadership, planning and organization. (It is similar to the Boy Scout Eagle Award or the Girl Scout Gold Award.)
I would be incredibly grateful if you would consider supporting this initiative through a donation of any of the items listed above—or even a gift card, donation, or grant that could be used to purchase supplies. Your generosity would have a direct and meaningful impact on children in our community.
If needed, I would be happy to provide additional details, a flyer, or documentation for your records. Thank you for your time and for all that you do to support our community.
