A goalkeeper might just be the most demanding position on the pitch.

Every goal kick has to find a teammate.
Every throw — 5 yards or 50.
No bad touches. No protection. No room for mistakes.

They have to be brave, loud, strong…
and they’re often the first to be blamed when things go wrong.

The pressure is huge.
Yet they turn up every week, give everything, and do it all again.

With a heavy heart, we are sad to share the news that John Buckland passed away on December 15, 2025.

John had a rich history with HSC. His journey with club included time as a coach, a board member and most recently, the club presidency.

We ask that you keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

His presence and humor will be greatly missed by us all.
