♥️🐾 Iris - Follow up! $5 Friday ♥️ 🐾Sweet Iris was brought to our attention by someone in the community. She was being mistreated in her home and infested with fleas. The owners were doing the best they could do, but just were not a good home for a dog. She’s estimated to be 5-6 months old. We couldn’t leave her in that situation! We were able to secure her and get her to rescue! Thanks to Ruby Whiskers Animal Rescue, she’s now in a foster home, getting all the love and attention she deserves! She’s now flea free, playful, growing back her hair loss from the flea infestation, and snuggly! Look at that happy girl! Once she is 100% healthy, she will find her forever home where she will always be loved! Teamwork saves so many lives! ♥️🐾

We want to be able to continue helping dogs like her and provide vetting for others owned in our community so they can stay with their families. Our work depends on the generosity of others, who donate to us so we can keep making a difference! If you could consider skipping the fancy coffee, gas station snack or fast food and donate even $5 to the work we are so dedicated to, it helps so many animals in many ways. We appreciate our donors who continue to make the work we do possible! Donations may be made here or to our PayPal below. Please contact us any time for other alternative ways to donate. If you can’t donate, that’s ok. We appreciate even a share! It all matters and makes a difference! Thank you all, for your continued support! 🙏🐾♥️

♥️ Happy National Black Dog Day! ♥️

Ever heard of Black Dog Syndrome? Black dogs often wait much longer in animal shelters and face higher rates of being overlooked compared to their lighter-colored counterparts. It’s suspected that dark fur makes it harder to clearly photograph a dog's expressive eyes and facial features in online shelter listings, which results in these good boys and girls being looked over.

If you’re looking for a faithful companion, always stop and meet the black dogs! Ask us for help! We can point you to many that need a forever home! ♥️

🆘🆘🆘🆘URGENT NEED🆘🆘🆘🆘
We are sharing poor Tiger again, in the hopes that someone out there sees her, and will be able to help us help her. She definitely needs a leg amputation and has no use of that leg. It also appears to have infection. It’s estimated that her vet bill will be at least $350 to $500 for all of her vetting. We want to get her to the vet tomorrow, but we need your help. If you can donate to her care, the information to do so is below. If you are a rescue and would be willing to take her in and give her the care she needs, we can assist with transport. We are appreciative of any assistance to help this little girl get the help she needs. Please share! 🙏

🙏♥️🐾 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY 🙏♥️🐾When I set out on the mission to be a nonprofit, I had no idea what to expect or how I’d get there. I just knew that I had the ability to make a difference, and I was willing to put in the work needed, to build something successful that mattered.

What started out as my plan to build a shelter for our strays, took me down a different path. I saw animals that needed a freedom ride, unseen animals that needed to be seen sitting in overcrowded shelters, and animals in the community that needed help to either get to a rescue group because the shelter was full or some that needed help to stay with their families.

I began this mission by driving those animals to safety. As of today, since January 2025, Scarlett’s Hope has driven over 350 animals to rescue groups, or sponsored transport costs to help get them there. I personally have a heart for transport and nothing makes me happier than being the freedom ride. Thanks to Shelter Dog Transport Alliance, who graciously lent me a van in the beginning, I was able to start moving animals North to freedom. Then Dr. Susan Conway, DVM generously donated us a van and that work was able to continue, saving many more. Unfortunately, our van had some issues and I had to start transporting in a Ford Explorer, but many lives were still saved, even with that limitation. Whether in a van or an SUV, transport work has continued. My goal for the next year is to get us into a reliable van again, and continue to make freedom drives for our animals in need, by building a network of rescues that are willing to partner with us and our shelters in Eastern Kentucky. Sometimes being able to offer that ride, helps a rescue say, “Yes!”, to helping our animals.

Recently, Scarlett’s Hope has focused on our local community. We are continuing to focus on affordable spay and neuter opportunities and hope to have some exciting news on that to share soon! We have also realized a need for helping provide some pet food assistance to owners in our local community here in Letcher County. That effort will continue. Helping our community is extremely important to me and the entire team. We see you and we are working on it! ♥️

To my team who has been willing to step up with anything needed and help with giveaways and fundraising events - I appreciate all of you so much! Your contribution makes all the difference and makes the impossible, possible! The sky is the limit and we will continue to grow together! You’re all the best! 🙏♥️

Lastly, and most importantly! Thank you to all the supporters, donors, rescue groups and anyone who has helped make my dream a reality for the past two years! I am grateful and humbled, by all of the support that has been given. I promise you that it all matters and is appreciated beyond words! Thank you so much for caring, and entrusting us to always do right by the animals in need. 🙏♥️

Respectfully,
Christy

P.S. All of the dogs in the image are dogs saved by Scarlett’s Hope, in one way or another. THEY are why we do this! And THEIR lives mattered! ♥️🐾

♥️🐾 PUPDATE: Parvo Puppies 🐾♥️ Remember our little Parvo puppies we shared? Some of you donated towards their care, and we wanted to share a pupdate for everyone to see! Although we sadly lost one (😢), these 3 girls are fighters, and finally arrived at their rescue yesterday! ♥️🐾🙏

Thank you For The Love Of Paws Dog Rescue for taking these girls in and giving them a fresh start in life. Dawn, you are the best and we appreciate your willingness to step up and help the ones who need it the most, and the many years of partnership. ♥️🙏

Shout out to Bethany Watts, who never gave up on trying to help us get these babies on the road and to VA! ♥️🚙

An extra HUGE thank you to Donna and Pam, who made the long drive, to transport them! You two are amazing! 🙏

It takes a village, and we are grateful for all the love these girls have been shown. Live big, little girls, and have the most wonderful lives! ♥️🐾

🚨🚨 URGENT MEDICAL NEED! 🚨🚨
Please help!! Tiger has a terrible injury to her leg and her owners have reach out to us for help. She is unable to use her leg and will most likely require an amputation due to the injury and infection. Her owners are also unable to continue to care for her, and would like to surrender her to us. We would love to commit to helping her heal and finding her forever home or rescue, however, we can only do that with your support. If you can donate anything toward her care, it would be so much appreciated. Ways to donate are below. Even a share is appreciated! We are told her needed vetting will cost approximately $350-500.

🦋♥️🦋♥️$9 to $5 FRIDAY🦋♥️🦋♥️
In honor of Dolly Parton’s song “9 to 5”, one of our supporters decided to name this baby after her! We are still raising the funding to get Dolly to the vet. If you can donate $9 or $5 to her care, or any combo of the two, it would help us get all of her vetting completed so she will be ready for a forever home or rescue soon! Every little bit matters! ♥️🙏🐾

UPDATE on her: She is doing well in her foster home and is being slow fed to help her start to maintain a more healthy body weight. She is super sweet and getting plenty of love. ♥️🐾

Ways to donate are below! Please help us, help her! She absolutely deserves it! 🙏

🆘🆘🆘URGENT HELP NEEDED🆘🆘🆘 This little sweetheart was dumped tonight in the severe thunderstorms and pouring rain. She was wet, shaking and terrified. She also extremely emaciated. There’s a video of her in the comments to show her body condition. She appears to be about 4 months old and absolutely did not deserve this! For the moment, she is with a kind foster who is keeping her safe, but we need to get her to the vet and get her checked out. We won’t abandon her. And hopefully the person who did this to her, has the kind of life they deserve. We got you little girl. Welcome to the pack! If you could please donate to her care or share the post, we can get her the care she needs and find her the home she deserves. ♥️🐾🙏
