15 West Teen Coffeehouse

15 West Teen Coffeehouse Dr.
Susan Suchocki Brown. One of the unique
characteristics of the Coffeehouse is
that it is a GLBTQ friendly group for
ALL people within the age frame.

The 15 West Coffeehouse began in
2009 with a small group of teens that
worked together to grow and build
the Coffeehouse to what it is today
with the support of Sheila Bishop,
Kristin Wilson, LICSW, and Rev. The
Coffeehouse quickly became active on
the statewide front, and has been
called upon nationally to help other
communities begin their own version
of a Coffeehouse. We
are a group that stands

for specific
values of respect and inclusivity. We
attract other teens and young adults
of any sexual orientation, race,
culture, and class seeking a safe space
where they experience a sense of
belonging and the power to co-create
the environment they want to live in. Our membership over the past five
years is approximately 160 teens and
young adults. We average 20
members on Monday nights, which
allows the Coffeehouse to maintain a
close, familial atmosphere.
