Stella went home this past weekend!
While what Stella is capable of doing for her person is something tangible that you can see and point to, a lot of what actually impacts someone doesn’t look like a finished task or a polished result.
What matters is the way they’re treated while they’re here. It’s important to be reminded (maybe for the first time in a while) that they matter.
People don’t just need a service dog. They need to feel seen, heard, and to know they’re not just another name on a list.
At Shepherds for Sheepdogs, inc. we’re not just focused on the end result. We care about how people experience the process of getting there. The way we show up, communicate, and treat them while they’re in our program matters.
We only get a small window of time with each person, and we don’t take that lightly. Because sometimes in the middle of everything someone is carrying, that’s what makes the difference.
We’re here to remind everyone that they’re important, and they’re still deeply loved and a child of God.
The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.
