What happens when adults finally give themselves permission to play again?

They often discover they haven’t forgotten how.
They’ve just gotten out of practice.

This fall, PlayWorks is coming to Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute for a new experiential adult enrichment series.

It begins September 29 with Introduction to PLAY, followed by four Tuesday evenings exploring:

This isn’t about becoming more childish.

It’s about reconnecting with curiosity, creativity, connection, energy, and the parts of ourselves adulthood sometimes pushes aside.

There are things we stop doing without ever deciding to stop.

Painting. Dancing. Exploring. Playing music. Riding a bike. Making things.

Going somewhere just because we’re curious.

We tell ourselves:
“Someday.”
"When things calm down.”
“When I have more time.”

But someday has a funny way of staying someday.

Saturday Play Challenge

Today’s mission:
• Find something ordinary and give it a completely new purpose.
• A cardboard box becomes a castle.
• A blanket becomes a cape.
• A wooden spoon becomes a microphone.
• A laundry basket becomes a basketball goal.

You have five minutes.
Choose one object.
Rename it.
Reinvent it.
Use it in a way it was never intended to be used.

Sometimes a team does not need another meeting.

They need to step outside their normal roles for a little while.
They need an experience where they can:
• Laugh together.
• Solve something together.
• Try an idea without worrying about getting it wrong.
• See strengths in one another that do not always appear during the workday.
• Reconnect as people.

PlayWorks Corporate Experiences use intentional play to support communication, collaboration, creativity, leadership, adaptability, resilience, and team connection.

The activities may look playful.
But every experience is built around a real organizational goal.
Because growing as a team does not always have to feel like another day at work.

When was the last time you took a class that helped you feel more like yourself?

This fall, PlayWorks is coming to Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute.

Beginning September 29, Dennis will lead an experiential adult enrichment series designed to help participants:
• Reduce stress.
• Reconnect with creativity.
• Improve communication.
• Try new things.
• Bring more energy and joy into everyday life.

This will not be four hours of sitting quietly while someone talks at you.
Participants will move, Create. Laugh. Connect, Reflect, And experience the PlayWorks method for themselves.

The series begins with:

It continues with a four-week exploration of:

• Try something and decide it is not for you.
• Start over.
• Choose the unusual option.
• Ask the question everyone else is thinking.
• Laugh before everything is finished.

Adults often feel like every decision has to be permanent and every attempt has to be successful.

It does not.
Sometimes the point is simply to explore.
