Lemon Grove Safe Routes to School Existing Programs and Policies:
• Walking Audits and Infrastructure Improvements
• School Safety Patrol Training
• Bike Rodeos & Community walks

The City of Lemon Grove and Circulate San Diego, in partnership with the Lemon Grove School District, are working on a Safe Routes to School program called "Lemon Grove Kids Walk and Roll to School." The purpose of this Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program is to incorporate education, encouragement, enforcement, engineering and evaluation components to meet the following goals:

• Encourage child

ren/families to walk or bike to school
• Improve traffic safety and circulation around school areas
• Increase the number of parents who allow their children to walk and bike to school
• Educate students about safe and legal bicycling and walking behavior
• Establish a core group of stakeholders at each school to support and maintain a Safe Routes to School Program
• Educate stakeholders about Safe Routes to School and gain support to sustain and expand the Program throughout the City of Lemon Grove.
