Wilmington Animal Centrix Mission Statement: Ending pet homelessness one spay and neuter at a time.

We are a 501c3, community outreach that works to support and create bridges between local animal rescues and community members who are trying to help animals in need. Our long-term goal is to reduce pet homelessness in New Hanover county, and surrounding communities. We will accomplish this goal by, working with individuals in our community, as well as other community non-profits to help keep pets

in their current home. We will primarily focus our efforts on companion animals, but will spread awareness of issues impacting wildlife.

Howling with joy! Oakley was saved from an abusive home and now spends his days lounging around with his 7 month old human partner in crime. From high stress to living blessed, Oakley reminds us to dream big!

WAC provides vouchers for people who are struggling financially but still want to do the best thing for their pets and our community. We are in this together to end pet homelessness one spay and neuter at a time.

Behind every great animal effort is someone willing to crawl under a porch, set a trap, build a website, bottle-feed a kitten, scoop a litter box… and somehow still show up for the next thing. 😂

Today we’re celebrating Carl — and honestly, we’re not sure how he fits all of his job titles on a business card!

Carl has poured countless hours, skills, resources, and heart into Wilmington Animal Centrix and into the animals who need us most.

We’re incredibly grateful for everything you do, Carl — even the things nobody sees. ❤️

Spaying and neutering does so much more than prevent unwanted litters—it saves lives. ❤️

Every year, shelters and rescues become overwhelmed with kittens and cats who need homes. By fixing our pets and community cats, we help reduce homelessness, overcrowding, abandonment, and unnecessary suffering.

Spaying and neutering can also:

🐾 Reduce the risk of certain cancers and infections
🐾 Prevent stressful heat cycles and pregnancies
🐾 Decrease roaming, spraying, fighting, and mating behaviors
🐾 Help cats live safer, healthier lives
🐾 Give every animal a better chance of finding a loving home

One simple procedure can prevent generations of unwanted kittens. Please be part of the solution—spay and neuter your pets. Together, we can save lives before they ever need rescuing.
