April 21, 2026 -- The Mayor’s Women’s Commission of Leesville is sponsoring an Art Contest and Essay Contest to help educate students about the importance of litter cleanup and city beautification. These activities coincide with the Love the Boot projects organized by the The Junior League of Leesville during the week of April 18–26, including the annual Trash Bash on April 18 at the Art Park on Abe Allen Memorial Drive.

Entries must be in by April 10th. See the rules and guidelines at https://www.leesvillela.gov/calendar.aspx?EID=1271. Awards will be presented to the winners on April 21, 2026 at the Leesville Event Center.

Although the Junior League will now lead the Trash Bash event, the Mayor’s Women’s Commission will continue to support the effort in several key ways:

-- Arranging for a dumpster to be placed at the Art Park for the full duration of Keep Louisiana Beautiful Week (April 17–27) for residents who wish to haul and dispose of their own trash.
-- Coordinating with the Public Works Department to ensure extra curbside trash pickups are completed throughout the city for the week.
-- And of course, we encourage all students to participate and join us in helping keep our city clean.

We had a great event last year -- check out the proud winners below!
