Flowers For Fathers Foundation is proud to be a part of the “Jay’s BDAY Wellness Walk & Social Event” hosted by the Sweat & Social Club of Lake County a powerful day dedicated to wellness, mental health awareness, family, and community connection.

In a time where so many are silently battling stress, anxiety, depression, and life’s challenges, events like this remind us that healing happens in community. This is bigger than a walk… it’s about showing people they are seen, valued, supported, and never alone. 🙏🏾

Saturday’s Fish Fry Fundraiser was everything our organization stands for. Not only did our supporters show up for the cause they took it a step further and became volunteers throughout the entire event.

This was more than a fundraiser…
It was genuine community.

A community filled with people who have a heart to give back, to serve, and to be a blessing to others. This is what Flowers For Fathers Foundation exemplifies shining a light on fatherhood, family, and community.

💐 A HUGE shoutout to one of our supporters who displayed a beautiful random act of kindness by purchasing a plate for Mr. Ernest. What started as a simple gesture turned into something much deeper.

We welcomed him into our shaded area, out of the heat, and made sure he was taken care of not just with one plate, but multiple until he was full, and even one to take home for his wife.

We prayed with him.
We encouraged him.
We played his favorite gospel song.

We loved on him like he was our own grandfather… and in that moment, that’s exactly what he became to us.

We had no idea the weight he was carrying until he shared that Saturday was going to be his last day here due to deep depression…

BUT GOD.

He told us he was grateful we were there because it saved his life.

We are not a religious organization, but we are believers in Christ Jesus, and we are honored that God used us in that moment to minister to Mr. Ernest in his time of need.

But truthfully… it was a moment we all needed.
A moment of unity.
A moment of love.
A moment of restoration.

Mr. Ernest could have been any one of our fathers, grandfathers, brothers, uncles, sons, or cousins.

Let this be a reminder:
Check in on the men in your life.
So many are hurting in silence.

We often try to carry everything in our own strength…but even our strength can fail us.

Be strong in the Lord.
Encourage one another.
Tell the men in your life that you love them.

Saturday reminded us all to never give up on each other.

From the bottom of our hearts…. THANK YOU to everyone who showed up, served, gave, and loved.

Because of you, we are able to continue pouring into fathers, strengthening families, and empowering the next generation. This wasn’t just an event… it was a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together with purpose.
