Tackling Data Centers

Good morning Loudoun, we tried to find a date in June for the Data Center Town Hall. However, between proms, graduations, staff schedules, etc. the earliest possible date is Monday July 6th.

✔️What: Data Center Town Hall
✔️Where: Loudoun County Government Building (in the Board Room) 1 Harrison St. Leesburg
✔️ When: Monday July 6, 7:00-9:30 P.M.
✔️Who: Loudoun residents will be given priority in seating and priority in asking questions.

While there isn't an election currently happening, it's never too soon to be prepared! Early voting starts 45 days before Election Day. However, only our office is open in the beginning. Last fall we hosted a program with UpVote on Ranked Choice Voting. See below for the latest update.

It's official. The first pro-RCV legislation in the country since 2023 has now passed in Virginia!

Today, both chambers of the General Assembly voted to accept Gov. Spanberger's technical amendments to the bills, concluding the process of the bill becoming a law.

This bill extends the local RCV option to elections for any local governing body and removes the sunset date, making this a permanent option for cities, counties, and towns.

What's next:

The new law will go into effect July 1, 2026.
UpVote will continue our work to educate voters and make sure localities are engaged and ready to make the change.
Virginians like you stay engaged to sustain this important work to strengthen democracy.
