What a perfect weekend for a campout.

Great weather, great campsite, and a great adventure at the Missouri State Penitentiary.

Scouts got a glimpse into the oldest prison west of the Mississippi. The tour guide did amazing job blending history with amazing stories. (Plus;, did we mention it’s haunted. A Halloween campout for the books.)

Scouts also got to check out the Missouri State Capitol, eating lunch outside the building and checking out memorials and parks around the premises.

Of course, the campsite was a perfect location… right along the river. And with picture perfect weather… you can’t ask for anything more.

This is what Scouting is all about — adventure, learning, and experiences these scouts won’t find at home!

Did you hear the news? Congrats to Madison on being recognized as the Eagle Scout Project of the Month for September by EagleBase.

To say Madison’s project at Valor Ranch in Rayville, Missouri is special is an understatement. She transformed a flagpole area into a beautiful Parade of Flags, honoring the men and women who have served our country.

The project provides veterans entering Valor Ranch with a daily reminder that their service and sacrifices are remembered and appreciated.

Help us congratulate Madison on this well-deserved recognition!

Another great Eagle Scout project is in the books.

Congrats to Rob McBurney for completing his Eagle Scout project at Lakeland Community church.

Rob led a crew of fellow Scouts in a variety of projects around the church. Scouts rolled up their sleeves to spread fresh mulch, clear brush, and trim back weeds.

It takes planning, leadership, hard work, and a willingness to serve others to make an Eagle project happen. We're proud of Rob for taking on this challenge and grateful to all the Scouts who came out to lend a hand!

Great work, Rob! You're one step closer to Eagle!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support Cub Scout Pack 4366 Lee's Summit, MO and Lee's Summit Troop 366 at our first food fundraiser event!

We had a great night filled with fun, good food, great company, and plenty of tacos.

A special shoutout to Branden Chavez and his father Michael for doing all the planning and cooking. If you need a caterer for your next special event, message Branden. Michael did an amazing job on the food and set up. Highly recommend.

Thanks to Lee's Summit Community of Christ, Heart of America Council, and Three Trails District - HOAC for all the support you provide our Troop and Pack.

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who showed up, brought their appetites, and supported our Scouts. Your generosity helps make all the adventures, campouts, activities, and opportunities we provide possible. We have a lot of happy scouts this morning.

It takes a village to keep Scouting going, and we're lucky to have such a great community behind us. THANK YOU!

This weekend, our Scouts put their wilderness survival skills to the test at Lake Jacomo!

Instead of just talking about survival skills, they got out there and put them to the test. Scouts built their own shelters using materials they found in the woods and tarps, and cooked their meals over an open flame.

They also hit the trail for a 2.5-mile hike, carrying what they needed and stopping along the way to cook a meal on the trail.

They also learned how to safely treat water to make it drinkable. An important skill when you're out in the wilderness and can't simply turn on a faucet.

Perhaps the hardest skill they learned was starting their fires without a lighter or matches. That took some real work, but they did it.

From building shelter to making fire, cooking food, hiking the trail, and finding safe drinking water, this campout was all about learning by doing.

The best part, the scouts did the work themselves. That's what being Scout-led is all about: Scouts taking responsibility, teaching one another, solving problems, and putting their skills to work in the real world.

Scouts in Troop 366 are preparing for this weekend’s Wilderness Survival Campout!

Last night Scouts reviewed skills, prepared their gear, and got ready to put their Scouting knowledge to the test in the great outdoors.

One of the best parts of being a Scout-led troop is watching Scouts teach Scouts. Our older Scouts took the lead Monday night, sharing their wilderness survival knowledge and teaching younger Scouts the skills they’ll need for the weekend. That included ways to light a campfire besides using a lighter or matches.

It’s leadership in action! Learning a skill is one thing, but being able to teach it to someone else is another level of Scouting.

Last night, we also celebrated several accomplishments, with six Scouts receiving their new rank patches! Congrats to Jacob and Brody on earning Tenderfoot. Oliver, Max, and Brody on earning First Class. And Keira for earning Star Rank.

Each rank represents hard work, new skills, and another step forward in their Scouting journey.

Older Scouts lead. Younger Scouts learn. Everyone grows.

Now it’s time to head into the wilderness!
