Troop 220 Lee's Summit Troop 220 has a long history in the Lee's Summit area of preparing young men to become leaders in our community and life.

We were established in 1937, making us one of the oldest troops in Lee's Summit. We are proud to have the VFW as our chartered organization.

Troop 220 scouts go camping once a month, 12 months a year, and December is no different! This month our scouts put their knowledge of cold weather safety to the test and set up camp at the Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park in Miami, Missouri.

Home to the Missouri American Indian Cultural Center, the Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park not only provided beautiful land to explore, but it also gave our scouts the opportunity to work towards their Indian Lore Merit Badge.

With temperatures dipping as low as 3 degrees and wind chills in the negatives, this was no easy feat. We congratulate these scouts for braving the elements and helping each other along the way.

Please join us in congratulating Owen on the completion of his Eagle project 🦅

Owen chose the Rotary Youth Camp as his beneficiary. Showing excellent servant leadership and not being afraid to jump in and help, Owen and his crew of fellow scouts constructed eight new firewood racks, which were placed around camp.

Job well done Owen! All of us at 220 are very proud of you!
