Both Ledyard and Gales Ferry Companies responded to a variety of incidents throughout the day. During the morning hours, crews operated at two automatic fire alarm activations and a reported electrical fire/odor investigation.
During the afternoon, a storm moved through Connecticut bringing periods of heavy rain and strong winds. Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, units responded to multiple incidents involving trees down on power lines and wires obstructing roadways. Several of these incidents required extended operations and ultimately resulted in the closure of a portion of Route 12.
