Thanks to everyone that came out Saturday morning from Troop 57 and Troop 1057 to lay mulch, grass seed and hay around the project site. This concluded the end of the landscaping for this project. Scouts earn service hours by supporting the Eagle projects of other scouts. Lastly, I want to give a big thank you to Mccarty's Landscaping and Sam for their contributions and work on this project. I can’t say enough about how great they were to work with. They laid the foundation for what will be a monument and thanks from the community to a special man, Col. Gordon Roberts.

McCarty’s finished up the install of the pavers today. We are excited by the finished product. It was worth the extra effort to raise another 16k and make it happen. I appreciate the support of the donors. My dad and I took a picture between placing 69 American Flags for our Troop 57 fundraiser, with the Lebanon Optimist Club Avenue of Flags. It took us about five hours tonight. The flags were placed today and will stay in place until after Veterans day. It was a busy start to the week.

As I wrap up vacation, I have an exciting announcement. I want to thank Stephen and Anne Lee today for their generous donation of $5,000 to reach my minimum funding goal of 66k. Mr. Lee served with Col. Gordon Roberts at the Veterans Administration in DC and has been friends for a long time. He is still involved as Ohio’s Civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army and a member of the Old Guard.

Pavers are being laid today. I’ll share an update of the finished patio on Monday.

Below is the updated flyer for my Eagle project. As I stated in a prior post today, I have upgraded my Eagle project to add pavers. The pavers will be installed over a concrete base to a commercial standard. This will support the long-term stability of the pavers. The downside is it will raise my original goal from 50k to 66k. I selected the pavers on Friday with Scott at Reading Rock, Inc. in Centerville. The colors are Burnt Red bordered with Coal accent bricks. We are close to 54k now. It also means the completion date has been pushed from early November into December. Please like and share this post and help me spread the word to help me complete the fundraising to honor Col. Gordon Roberts. Thank you to all the donors to date. Concrete and pavers will be started next week so stay tuned for updates 😊
