Wilson County Christmas for All

Although Wilson County Christmas for All (CfA) has been operating since about 2000, its roots go back further. It began as a charitable program started by the Bellsouth Pioneers (retired Bellsouth employees) to gather and distribute toys to children at Christmas. In 2005, Christmas for All incorporated under IRS 501 (c) 3 as a non-profit charitable organization. CfA provides Christmas gifts for approximately 2000-2500 underprivileged children from newborns to age 15 in Wilson County every year with support from the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Fireman’s Toy Drives, and numerous other individuals & businesses. CfA also receives assistance from churches and organizations that wish to “sponsor” a child or children with donations of money or toys. The organization is run entirely by volunteers and charitable donations. Volunteers are needed to enter information into the database, help purchase toys, sort & stock the tables at the warehouse with the toys, call parents to come pick up their children’s gifts, & help distribute the gifts. Volunteers are desperately needed the week after Thanksgiving. Applications for CfA are taken at the Department of Human Services starting in mid-October each year. Once an application is completed and turned in, the information is put into the database and provided to sponsors. We do not give used toys, clothes, food products (including candy), or toy guns (except for Nerf). If anyone is interested we have children available to sponsor too closer to the season & we give you the child's first name, age, gender, & a list of things they have requested. CfA volunteers purchase toys throughout the year. The toys/gifts are moved from storage the Monday after Thanksgiving to Westland United Methodist Church, located at 110 Dawson Ln., Lebanon, TN 37087. Westland has graciously allowed us to use their facilities for the last few years. Christmas for All volunteers select toys from the inventory based on requests on the child’s application. The value of gifts received by each child is approximately $60-$80. Parents are then called to come pick up their children’s gifts. CfA volunteers begin toy distribution the first week in December.
