Twyla's Friends We are a Volunteer run, 501c3 non-profit foster-based Dog rescue in Kingwood, TX without a shelter Twyla's Friends is a 501(3)(c) charity organization.

Our mission is to help abandoned and rescued dogs in our community through veterinary assistance and help with placement in permanent homes. Twyla's Friends is a volunteer organization with no shelter or kennel facilities. All donations are used to help pay veterinary expenses for dogs in immediate need.

Lewis and Scotty are in two different foster homes, but they got to meet for the first time at our Meet and Greet event last Sunday and they were absolutely smitten with each other! Both of these cuties are still available and would love to have a playmate. 💚

Hi Twyla’s fam! We have a little update on Bambi. I think most of our followers remember that Bambi had trouble acclimating to going to the bathroom in the backyard because he would only use the potty in the crate. (Sad aftermath from being left in a crate by his previous owners) His foster family came up with the idea of having a puppy rounder in the backyard for him. Despite all the different methodologies they tried on him he has never adapted to using the backyard, only his puppy pen. Well, last week his foster dad built him his own “ potty “ corner in their yard. Bambi absolutely loves his new little “ bathroom” corner of the yard. Go Bambi go! 💗💗 Adapt and overcome! Also , a Huge thank you to his Twyla’s Auntie Veronika! She is there for him whenever his foster family goes on trips or outings. 💗💗

Meet Scotty! We teased him in our Meet and Greet announcement yesterday, but thought we should give him a proper introduction. This energetic 1-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix is very smart and very affectionate. Scotty likes to play with other dogs and toys, both at the same time is even better. He’s house trained, crate trained, moderately vocal, and LOVES attention. He also love stealing things to chew up like the TV remote, books, socks, and anything else you may leave lying around. What can we say, no one’s perfect, but he sure is awful cute.😂

Our monthly Meet and Greet event is this Sunday, June 14th, from 2:00-5:00 PM at The Cove on Hamblen. Come have a beer and meet some of our available pup! 🐶🍻

We have a couple of new faces this month! Lewis, Scotty, Calvin, and Giselle are just a few of our pups that will be there. If there’s any dog on our website that you’re interested in seeing, please give us a heads up, so we can do our best to make sure you get the chance to meet them! 💚

We’ve got a Calvin update! He’s done so well settling into his foster home that we’ve updated his bio to reflect all the new awesome things we’ve leaned about him.

What we’re most excited about is how much he likes kids and how well he’s done with them! He lives with a 2.5 year old little boy in his foster home and they are two peas in a pod! He’s also met other kids of all shapes and sizes both in his foster home and out in public, and he does great with all of them. He’s instantly comfortable around kids, and he’s happy to just let them pet him, or to gently play with them. He’s the perfect gentleman around them. 💚

We’re happy to announce that our sweet Dobby has been adopted! He’s come such a long way since his finder/foster scooped him up from the freeway’s HOV lane. He now gets to spend his days soaking up all the attention his heart desires, going for walks around the neighborhood, and zooming around his giant backyard.

Update: Reunited!

Dog found at Kroger Northpark. Finder cannot keep. Waiting on a call back from the vet office ( he has a rabies tag on ) The vet office could not release Owner information, but they have left a message with our information for the owners. Anyone recognize this fella? Thank you!!
