The Grady County Clerk’s Office is hosting a Mobile DD214 Filing Event on:
📅 Friday, November 13, 2026
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
📍 Grady County Fairgrounds
But we want this event to be about more than filing a document—we want it to be about connecting veterans with the people and resources ready to serve them.
We are inviting organizations, agencies, and individuals who provide services, benefits, resources, and support to veterans to join us and have an information table at the event.
Why DD214 Filing Matters
A DD214 is the official record of a veteran’s military service. Recording it with the County Clerk’s Office provides a secure, permanent record that can be accessed when it is needed.
Recording is FREE. Certified copies are FREE.
Having a DD214 on record can help make accessing benefits, healthcare, employment opportunities, retirement benefits, and funeral honors easier for veterans and their families.

Mental health matters, and sometimes the people who seem to be doing okay are carrying more than we realize.

For many veterans, life after service comes with challenges that others may not see or fully understand. Whether it’s adjusting to civilian life, dealing with financial stress, struggling with housing, or simply trying to figure out what comes next, it can be a lot to carry.

Today is a reminder to check on the people around you, take time to listen, and give others the same grace and understanding we all need from time to time. You never know what someone might be going through.

A housing crisis can impact employment, relationships, emotional well-being, and overall stability. For many Veterans, finding that kind of stability can come with challenges of its own.

They’ve spent enough time serving. Home should be a place where they can simply be home.

What does a Buddy Check really look like?

This training video is a great reminder that checking on our fellow veterans doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it starts with a simple phone call, a text, a conversation over coffee, or asking, “How are you really doing?”

Buddy Check is about staying connected, recognizing when someone may need support, and making sure our veterans know they don’t have to navigate life’s difficult seasons alone.
