Veterans, please note that the widely spread pictured advertisement in this post is a scam. VA has neither prepared this information nor approved it for dissemination.

Eligible Veterans enrolled in VA healthcare may qualify to receive therapeutic shoes, including custom inserts, if a VA clinician determines they are medically necessary. Veterans with conditions like flat feet, plantar fasciitis, or diabetes often qualify for these footwear benefits if a need is determined and following a podiatry examine.

Please remember to safeguard your personal information. Scams are established to get sensitive information from you and sometimes they appear to be authentic. Be skeptical, safeguard your personal information.

FORT SILL VISITOR PASSES

As Fort Sill transitions to its new website, visitor pass information is temporarily unavailable online.

If you need a visitor pass and have a REAL ID, you can apply online through the Army’s secure Automated Installation Entry (AIE) Portal: https://pass.aie.army.mil/

If you do NOT have a REAL ID, you MUST come to the Visitor Welcome Center (VWC), T6701 NW Sheridan Rd, in person with two alternative forms of identification to obtain a pass.

✅ Accepted forms of identification include:
🔹 U.S. Passport or Passport Card
🔹 State or local government-issued ID
🔹 Student ID (in some cases)
🔹 Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
🔹 Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC)
🔹 Federal PIV or PIV-I card
🔹 Local installation access passes (e.g., DBIDS card)

Oklahoma City VA Hosts Freedom 250 Community Engagement Event

WHAT: The Oklahoma City VA Health Care System will host a community engagement event to inform Veterans about benefits available under the PACT Act. VA staff will be on-site to discuss Veterans’ needs, help navigating the VA system, and connect Veterans, spouses, and survivors with available resources.

WHO: Veterans, spouses, caregivers, survivors, and active-duty members nearing retirement.

WHEN: Saturday, June 6, 2026, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. CST

The PACT Act is the biggest expansion of Veteran health care and benefits in generations. It ensures millions of Veterans who were exposed to hazards such as sandstorms, burn pit smoke, chemicals like Agent Orange and other toxic substances during their military service receive care and benefits for the conditions linked to those exposures.

More Veterans than ever before are eligible for VA health care under the PACT Act, and VA staff will be available to help Veterans, spouses, and survivors connect with benefits and resources.

More Veterans than ever before are eligible for VA health care under the PACT Act, including some who were previously denied. Veterans who are not enrolled in VA health care are encouraged to attend a PACT Act community engagement event hosted by the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System on June 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Life Church in Midwest City.
During the event, attendees can learn more about VA benefits and receive assistance enrolling in VA health care.
Veterans are encouraged to bring the following documents, if available:
DD-214
Proof of income from the previous year
Date of marriage (if applicable)
Social Security numbers and birth dates for any dependents

🏠 What Is the HUD-VASH Program?

HUD-VASH is a powerful housing assistance program that helps homeless Veterans find stable housing and supportive services. It combines resources from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

🔑 How It Works:
✔ Provides a Housing Choice Voucher to help pay rent in the private market
✔ Connects eligible Veterans with case management and supportive services
✔ Helps Veterans maintain long-term housing stability

🎯 Who May Qualify?
Generally Veterans experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness who meet local program requirements.

💡 Why It Matters:
HUD-VASH doesn’t just provide rent help—it provides a path to stability, recovery, and independence.
