In honor of Oncology Nursing Month and this year’s theme, “Oncology Nurses: Growing Hope, Inspiring Strength,” we are incredibly proud to recognize one of our own, Chadell Atkinson. 🩺✨

Lily Alvarado, our CCSO Duncan Nurse Manager, shared a story that perfectly captures the heart of what it means to be an oncology nurse. While attending the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, Chadell witnessed a runner collapse on the course.

Without hesitation, she sprang into action. Drawing on her clinical expertise, Chadell quickly assessed the situation, initiated CPR, and worked alongside others until the runner regained a pulse and consciousness. Her swift response and calm leadership directly contributed to a life-saving outcome.

Chadell’s actions exemplify the strength, skill, and compassion our nurses bring to our patients and our communities every single day.

Please join us in the comments below to celebrate Chadell for this remarkable act of care and professionalism! Great job, Chadell! 🧡👏
