Last week was July 4th. This week, we're celebrating a different kind of freedom - the freedom to talk openly with your kids about mental health and substance use.💙

Freedom isn't just fireworks. It's a family culture where no one suffers in silence.

What's one conversation you're committing to this summer? Drop it below. 👇

One of the most powerful things we heard at our Saturday, June 20th workshop:

‘I didn’t think I needed to have this conversation. Now I know.’ 💙

That’s why Jordan’s Room does this work. Not just awareness. Action.

Here are 3 key takeaways every parent needs to hear:

1️⃣ Connection is protection - teens with strong bonds to trusted adults are less likely to use substances
2️⃣ You don’t need to be perfect - you need to be present
3️⃣ It’s never too early - or too late - to start the conversation

Save this. Share it. 💚

Not all childhood stress is harmful ….but some is. 🧠

There’s a difference between:

🟡 Tolerable stress - temporary challenges with adult support
🟠 Toxic stress - prolonged adversity WITHOUT a supportive adult

ACEs become most harmful when children face them alone. When a caring adult is present - someone who listens, validates, and stays - the biology of trauma actually changes.

You matter more than you know. 💙

Why do teens turn to substances? The answer might surprise you. 🧠

It’s rarely about rebellion. More often, it’s about:

🔹 Anxiety or depression with no healthy outlet
🔹 Peer pressure and the need to belong
🔹 Trauma that’s never been talked about
🔹 A brain that’s still developing and seeking dopamine

Understanding the WHY changes everything about how we respond as parents.

Save this. Share it. Come to our workshop on June 20th for more. 💙
