🙏✂️ One of the biggest accomplishments of Grace Community is their work on our Hope for Literacy program. This year one of the team members spent hours printing, laminating, organizing, and cutting materials that will make their way into classrooms around Guatemala City!

In the end, this week of hard work means we can now begin to distribute two *new* books to our partnering classrooms — thank God for Grace Community!

🔩🙏One of Grace Community's projects this week was to do some finishing work for the deck that the previous team constructed. The team before left behind materials and instructions for this group to install spindles and handrails.

But this team also worked hard on a few solutions that weren't as clear cut: how do we keep the kids from falling in the hole left for the tree, or how do we close off an awkward open section with fencing?

After this team, the deck is significantly safer and almost ready for everyday use!

This time of year we don't sit still for long! Just a few days after our friends from Alabama left, we welcomed our friends back from Grace Community from Trenton IL!

This group spent quality time with our kiddos, worked super hard on our new deck, made major progress with Hope for Literacy, and gave our tool room a desperately needed inventory. Stay tuned for a some stories from this group's trip!!

🙏🌳None of this work could take place if the kiddos are running around beneath everyone's feet. So we had a dedicated group of folks that spent their afternoons with the kids at the park!

They did everything from play on the playground, to visit the baseball stadium, to play chess, and even teach the younger kids how to do the monkey bars!

👩‍🎨💪 During this rainy season, we have had serious trouble with flooding and leaks in our children's home. This has meant that rain smeared ink from pictures down the wall and even worse the dirty water has left residue.

We asked Faith Family to clean and paint as much of the children's home as possible. They hit this project hard and painted nearly every space we asked them to. Since they were so efficient we had them give a quick coat to the outside of the preschool! Boy does it feel nice to have a fresh coat of paint!
