Bread and Roses 1912-2012

Bread and Roses 1912-2012 Bread & Roses Centennial Committee The Great Lawrence Strike—popularly referred to as the Bread & Roses Strike—began during the second week in January,1912.
(102)

Several individuals and organizations have put together a year-long calendar of events to consider the strike’s history and its lessons for 2012 and beyond. Considering the strike’s history and meaning is particularly relevant as the country is faced with grinding unemployment, growing income inequality, and attacks on workers’ rights to form unions of their choice.
