We’re all set for next year and perhaps the next after that! An embarrassment of riches. If we make 150 trucks in 2026, we’ll hit a total of 1000+ since 2017! Thank you to our generous benefactor!

The Kansas City Woodworking Guild asked this Goob to speak at their monthly meeting this Wednesday night, 2/18 at about 8:00 pm. For those non KU fans(game at same time) needing to fill 30 minutes of down time…click on the Youtube link within the link below.

Join us for our next meeting as we highlight the incredible work of Jay Morris (JHM Woodworks) and his team of volunteers. Based out of a basement shop in Lawrence, Jay has turned "man glitter" (sawdust) into a mission of generosity, crafting over 850 handmade wooden trucks for Toys for Tots since 2...

Picked up a big load o’ lumber offcuts today. Thanks mucho mucho to Brandon Bradshaw for driving me down with his trailer for the pick up. These offcuts are +/- 12’ long. His long trailer eliminated the need to cut down the offcuts to fit.

What should we build next year?

The Prime Directives:
1. The kid has to be able to put stuff in it.
2. Something has to move on it other than the wheels.

It is nice to see and hear good stories on the News especially when there are many people pitching in behind the one Goob(🤣) being interviewed.

For friends in and around the Kansas City area…
A story on the annual JHM Woodworks toy truck build for Toys for Tots will be on KMBC 9 at 10 or 10:30 tonight depending on when the football game finishes.
Hope I wasn’t a total goob…🫣

Huge thank you and shoutout to Jay and JHM Woodworks. Since 2017, he has donated a different type of truck to ours and several other campaigns throughout the state and Kansas City. These handmade, wooden toys are leftover cutoffs of wood that he along with his team turn into amazingly crafted toys. We are so grateful to him every year, as these tend to not last long on distribution days.
Also gotta say, check out the article in the The Kansas City Star today about his donations and being quite the toymaker.
Taking leftover wood and making memories for kids across the area on Christmas morning.

The Kansas City Star came and did a two hour in the shop interview with me and my awesome elves. Thank you Laura and Tammy of the KC Star for the interest shown to what we do every year in the Toy Shop!
Attached is the “free” link to the story they did. You can share this link with anyone.
Merry Christmas!!🎄🎁

“We’re trying the best we can to not make something that will land on the Island of Misfit Toys,” says Jay Morris. “No square wheels.”
