Two action medic collectives are offering classes on treating bleeding wounds in the Triangle this weekend.
The Durham Autonomous Medical Network is offering a free workshop on Basic Bleeding Control with an emphasis on gunshot wounds on Saturday, 8/23/25, at 1 pm at The Burrow/La Madriguera at 207 N Church in Durham.
Sanctum of the Craft is offering a free workshop with an emphasis on cuts and abrasions that covers identifying various wounds, assessing the scene and wounded person, recognizing and treating shock, stopping the bleeding, preventing infection, and more. It takes place on Sunday, 8/24/25, at 3 pm at RUMAH's Hub in Downtown Raleigh at 415 Hillsborough St, Suite 101. There will be a later class on other soft tissue, bleeding injuries, including puncture and bullet wounds.
The Triangle needs more people trained to serve their community in times of escalating crisis (climate catastrophe, civil instability, limited medical freedom, etc.) Consider attending medic trainings so you can be better prepared to protect yourself, your friends and family, and your community.
