You're not a bad dog owner. Your dog isn't a bad dog.
They're just scared. And that matters. šŸ’›

Separation anxiety is one of the most common — and most misunderstood — challenges for dog families, especially those who've recently welcomed a shelter pup home.
When dogs with separation anxiety are left alone, they don't just miss you. They panic. They enter a fear state that can look like destruction, barking, or accidents — and it has nothing to do with being badly behaved. It has everything to do with a dog who hasn't yet learned that you always come back.

Here's what can help:
Start tiny. Short departures of 1 to 5 minutes, then slowly increase the time. You're building trust, not testing limits.
Exercise before you leave. A long walk or play session before departure can significantly reduce anxiety levels. A tired pup is a calmer pup.
Create a positive association. Leave a special treat or puzzle toy only when you go. Over time, your dog starts to connect your departure with something good — and the panic softens.

For dogs with severe anxiety, a local trainer or veterinary behaviorist can make a tremendous difference. This isn't something you have to navigate alone.
The beautiful truth? Most dogs work through separation anxiety completely. They become wonderful, deeply bonded companions, once they feel safe and secure.

You're not failing your dog by struggling with this. You're showing up for them. That's exactly what they need. šŸ’›

šŸ’› Save this post. Share it with a dog family who might be going through this right now.

We finally have answers for Doogie and now the real work begins. šŸ’›

If you've been following Doogie's story, you know he's been struggling. Ongoing skin irritation — hair loss, persistent redness, just wouldn't quit. We knew something was triggering it. We just didn't know what.

So we decided to take action. We sent in a hair sample for the 5Strands Food & Environmental Hair Test — a non-invasive sensitivity test that analyzes reactions to hundreds of food and environmental items.

The results came back. And they were eye-opening.

🚫 Level 3 (High) Sensitivity — These need to be eliminated from his diet entirely:
Foods: beef, lamb, clams, mussels, coconut, tomatoes, cauliflower, carrots, cow milk, and many more...
Environment: Bed bugs, wasps, walnut tree, carbon dioxide, Polyurethane, wool, and many more...
Some of those food items are in almost every standard dog food on the market. No wonder he's been struggling.

āœ… Safe for Doogie — Minimal to no reaction:
Chicken, turkey, pork (air dried), salmon, mackerel, Blueberry, Asparagus, Squid, sweet potato, sardine, Lentils, Pear, Goat Milk, and many more...

Now we have a roadmap. Now we can actually start helping him heal — one meal, one day, one step at a time.

We'll keep sharing Doogie's journey with full transparency, because that's what Positive Pups is about. Real dogs. Real challenges. Real impact.
If you have a dog dealing with similar symptoms, unexplained itching, hair loss, skin redness — this type of testing might be worth exploring. We're happy to share more about the process.

šŸ’› Follow along for Doogie's updates.
Share his story, you might help another dog parent find the answers they've been searching for. 🐾

We love an underdog—and Romeo needs one person to see him šŸ’›šŸ¾

We’re sharing this sweet boy from The Animal Foundation because he keeps getting overlooked. He may not be ā€œconventionally cute,ā€ but his personality is everything—loving, playful, easygoing, and a total cuddle bug.

At 8 years old, he already knows commands, loves treats, and just wants a human to call his own.

Sometimes the best dogs are the ones people pass by. Let’s change that for Romeo.

Vegas knows a high roller when it sees one.
Meet Nova.

Formerly at The Animal Foundation.
Once on the At-Risk list.
Now, officially home. šŸ’›

Nova didn’t need fixing.
He didn’t need changing.

He was already:
• Great on leash
• Well-mannered
• Calm, steady, ready

He was simply waiting for someone to see what was already there.

Nova’s Vegas Rating:

Leash game → Blackjack smooth
Manners → Strip-level classy
Heart → Pure jackpot
Overall: 7-7-7. Lucky High Roller. 777/10.

And then… the right hand was played.
Nova was chosen. Nova went home.

This is what rescue looks like when it goes right.
Not just hope, but outcome.

Every great story starts with one person saying yes.
Nova found his.

Some dogs come into this world quietly…
and leave it as heroes.

Sully was one of them.

A 5-year-old Great Pyrenees who, on the very first night he was rescued, saved a family of four from a house fire.

He didn’t hesitate.
He didn’t think twice.
He just protected—because that’s who he was.

But in a single, unguarded moment… everything changed.

A gate was accidentally left open.
Sully got out… ran into the street…
and was struck by a vehicle going 45 MPH.
His owner tried everything to save but it was impossible.
Emergency care. Pain management. Fighting for just one more chance.

But despite every effort…
Sully didn't make it. This isn’t just a story of loss.
It’s a story of love, responsibility, and the fragile moments that can change everything.

Sully gave his life protecting others.
Now, we have the chance to honor him by protecting those still here.

šŸ’› Help us continue rescuing, caring for, and fighting for dogs like Sully
šŸ’› Help us support families facing unexpected emergencies
šŸ’› Help us turn heartbreak into purpose

Every share. Every donation. Every voice matters.

Because behind every rescue…
is a soul just like Sully, waiting to love, protect, and belong.

You are a hero, Sully.
Your story will save more lives than you know.

Help us be there for the next dog who needs us. Join our mission!

She walked in shyly. She left like she owned the place.
This is Sable. She came into my life in late August 2025 as my second rescue pup, not just a rescue, but one of my loved dogs, one of my own. The kind you don’t just foster… you choose, fully, for life.

She wasn't sure about much at first. But then she discovered a training class.
And everything changed.
The moment Sable knows it's training day at the park, she transforms. The shyness fades. The excitement takes over. She shows up — fully, joyfully, awkwardly — and she gives it everything she has.

Week by week, class by class, she is becoming more confident. More herself. More home.
And for me, watching her grow, knowing she’s not going anywhere, knowing she’s mine and I’m hers — that’s the real meaning of rescue.

Not just saving a life.
But choosing to share one.

This is why Positive Pups exists: every dog deserves that moment. The moment they realize they’re safe, they’re loved, and they belong.

This is why rescue matters.
This is why Positive Pups exists — because every dog deserves the chance to find their moment. That moment when they realize they're safe, they're loved, and they belong.

Sable didn’t just find hers.
She found her forever. šŸ’›

Help us give more dogs the same chance.
Even a small donation makes a life-changing difference:

If you don’t have $10,000 set aside for a pet emergency… you need pet insurance.

Most people don’t think about it… until it’s too late.

Vet emergencies can hit $3K, $5K, even $15K overnight.

And in that moment, families are forced into decisions they never wanted to make. šŸ’”

That’s where pet insurance changes everything. 🐾

It means:
āœ”ļø You can say YES to lifesaving care
āœ”ļø No draining savings
āœ”ļø Access to emergency vets
āœ”ļø Peace of mind when it matters most

Your dog is family. Protect them like it. ā¤ļø
