Nevada Maternal and Child Health Coalition Nevada Statewide Maternal and Child Health Coalition (NVMCH) is a diverse partnership of dedicated members representing health and childcare organizations.

Children are our future. The Nevada Statewide Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Coalition believes that every child deserves a healthy start – it’s the best gift a community can give to its children. The Nevada Statewide Maternal and Child Health Coalition works with community partners to advocate for preconception health, developmental screening, breastfeeding, physical activity, and more for mothers and children. To better serve the entire state of Nevada, the MCH Coalition offers membership, resources and support in Northern and Southern Nevada. Together, the Northern and Southern Nevada Coalitions serves to nurture and enhance the knowledge and capacity of the healthcare community to better serve the needs of families

Our mission is to provide leadership in partnership with public and private organizations to improve the physical and mental health, safety and well-being of the maternal and child health population in Nevada including children with special healthcare needs.

Join the FAMILY CONNECT Event! 💜

NHA, CCSD Title I Hope & Clark County are hosting an On-Site Family Connect Event next Tuesday, October 13th from 10am - 1pm.

There will be a variety of providers in attendance to provide assistance to families, youths, and kids such as legal aid, housing, Medical Insurance, family support, vision services, employment, social services, and mental health.

October is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Awareness Month. Approximately 3,500 infants die annually in the United States from sleep-related infant deaths.

This month is dedicated to educate mothers, parents, and caregivers on safe infant sleep practices and to reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths. Families benefit from information and open discussions to talk about their concerns. By raising awareness about safe sleep for infants, parents and caregivers can help play a part in decreasing the amount of sleep-related deaths.

MCH hosts a Parent Safe Sleep Workshop every 2nd Wednesdays of the month, if you are interested in registering for the program. You can visit our website nvmch.org 💓

Every story matter, every loss matters, and every mom matters. You are not alone in this journey and shouldn't grief silently. Loss can happen in many ways - miscarriage, SIDS, stillbirth, infertility, and more. 💗 This month and everyday is to honor every mother who has lit a candle for their baby and families carrying this pain. There is no "right" way to grieve, and there is no timeline for healing. May we continue to break the silence, support one another, and honor the lives that changed yours forever 🕊️✨
