🛠️ Warranty Claim or Wildlife Adventure?

Just had a technician out on what looked like a legitimate warranty claim for an 80 gallon OMNI Split-System HPWH. He was instructed to replace the PCB, he pulled the PCB motherboard… and discovered two frogs had taken up residence and shorted it out.

Not a manufacturing defect. Not a component failure. Just nature trying (and failing) to take down our unit.

😂 This is now one of my favorite field stories. However, we do grieve the loss of Mr & Mrs Hopper

The bigger picture?

With 2 years in the field across the country, we’ve had very few actual warranty claims. Roughly 0.13%.

We’re not just building one of the worlds greatest high-efficiency heat pump water heaters, we’re building them ridiculously robust and trouble-free.

A couple weeks ago we had a great experience with ’s Mechanical Services out of Marion, Illinois and with our incredible distribution partner SEEL LLC, installing the OMNI in a manufactured home. This customer really gets energy efficiency and was geavious enough to allow me conduct a training in her home.

We did not let the 100° heat index keep us down. The team at John’s mechanical services were professional and on point.

This image pretty much says it all.
On the left, you have the typical integrated tower heat pump water heater (yes we know, we have the UNOS Integrated Tower- but thats why we know this cartoon is true). It doesn’t really care if it fits. It just shows up, takes over the closet, makes noise, blows cold air into the living space, creates drafts, and forces the homeowner to adapt around it.

On the right, you have a Eco-Logical OMNI split system. The noisy part stays outside where it belongs, and the indoor unit is just a normal-looking (but very handsome) water heater tank. The system adapts to the home — not the other way around.
This is exactly why we designed the Eco-Logical OMNI the way we did. A lot of homes — especially manufactured homes, ADUs, and smaller multifamily units (but we fit in mansions)— were never going to work well with integrated towers. Forcing them in just creates new problems for the people living there.

Many homes across the country have been effectively left behind in the push toward building electrification — not because homeowners don’t want efficient solutions, but because the technology often doesn’t work for their reality.

Manufactured homes, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), small multifamily buildings, and other space-constrained homes frequently can’t accommodate traditional integrated heat pump water heaters. When these units are forced into tight spaces, they often create new problems: indoor noise, cold air discharge that increases heating loads, condensate management issues, and venting requirements that many older or smaller homes simply can’t support.

Juneteenth, once known as Emancipation Day, has been celebrated for generations, reaching back to the holiday’s origins at the end of the Civil War.

On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, with news that the war was over and the enslaved were now free. Two years had passed since President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, so the holiday recognizes total freedom from slavery across all of the United States.

Eco-logical offices will be closed today to honor and commemorate Juneteenth.
