Everyone knows the duck curve. Hot-water use is the cat-ears curve — two sharp peaks, morning and evening, with a long, quiet stretch in between. Gas & Electric hot water heaters chase both ears hard. (cat ears - you heard it here first) (no pun intended) (well maybe there was)

A Heat Pump Water Heater like OMNI barely lifts its head. OMNI is an automatic peak demand reducer. The OMNI does have an available eco-port for utilities who want to try to control it, but we contend that it is not necessary.
