๐ŸŒธ A Special Dedication from Lend A Hand of Boulder City ๐ŸŒธ

Today, volunteers gathered to add color, beauty, and charm to our community through the planting of newly adopted downtown planters. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

As we planted flowers, we also planted a lasting tribute.

The Lend A Hand of Boulder City planter is proudly dedicated to the wonderful past, current, and future volunteers. Their generosity, compassion, and commitment have helped us serve our neighbors, strengthen our community, and make Boulder City a better place for everyone.

Just as these flowers will bloom and grow, so too does the impact of every volunteer who gives their time, talents, and heart to help others.

I have extensive leadership and management experience having spent the better part of my career working for the Federal Government managing Law Enforcement, Structural and Wildland Fire, Emergency Medical Services, Search and Rescue, and Resource Protection programs.

Lend A Handโ€™s mission is in line with my passion working with seniors to help them maintain their independence as long as appropriate. I took care of my mother for six years and know firsthand the importance of helping seniors maintain their independence.

๐–๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž ๐๐จ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ก ๐จ๐ซ ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐š๐œ๐ญ?
Boulder City has a large senior population and will continue to grow. In addition to the services, we currently provide to our seniors, I think itโ€™s import that we educate our community about the importance of injury prevention, health and wellbeing and exercise and fitness. Itโ€™s never too late to start exercising and eating right.

๐‚๐š๐ง ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฌ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐š ๐›๐ข๐ญ ๐š๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐›๐š๐œ๐ค๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐?
Having spent my first career in the Emergency Services Sector it was my duty to provide professional services many times to people in need. After retirement I found a need to continue with public service and started volunteering for Lend A Hand.
From there I started working part time for the City of Boulder City where I found my passion for working with seniors. I am currently teaching functional fitness classes for the City of Boulder City three days a week. I am a certified personal trainer that specializes in working with seniors.

Working as a Chief Ranger and Chief of Police, I gained considerable experience in partnerships and collaborations, budget and finance and regulatory oversight of emergency services.

- Awareness: It is important that the community knows the many resources available to seniors to include Lend A Hand. Itโ€™s hard to Lend A Hand if you are unaware of our services.
- Volunteerism: There are many opportunities to Lend A Hand. Please consider joining our fabulous team.
- Support: We are a non-profit organization that relies on grants, sponsorships, and donations.

- Increase donations, sponsorships and grants.
- Position Lend A Hand for long-term sustainability by streamlining our systems.
- Regulatory oversight and financial transparency.

This past Wednesday, we had the joy of celebrating our incredible Lend A Hand volunteers at our Thank You Volunteers Coffee & Pastries event!

In honor of National Volunteer Appreciation Week 2026, we just want to say how grateful we are for each of you.
