Session Spotlight: "We're the Experts": Stop, Listen, and Meet Teens and Transition Age Youth Where They Are 💙

At the 2026 Nevada CASA Statewide Conference, Dr. Dominique Mikell Montgomery challenges advocates to rethink who holds the expertise in the room. Her session centers teens and transition-age youth, because they're the true experts on their own experiences.

Dr. Montgomery is an Assistant Professor at UNR's School of Social Work, with a PhD from UCLA and an MSW from the University of Chicago. Her research amplifies the voices of youth navigating child welfare and other state systems.
