✨ Meet Noreen Santos, Southern Regional Director of the Nevada Nursing Student Association for the 2026–2027 term.

Noreen chose nursing because it combines two of her greatest passions: science and art. She hopes to pursue a career in Critical Care or the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she can apply both critical thinking and compassionate care in high-acuity environments.

Outside of school, Noreen enjoys weight training, visiting national parks, reading, painting, and recreating foods inspired by places she has traveled to.

As Southern Regional Director, Noreen is committed to representing and supporting nursing students throughout Southern Nevada while fostering engagement, collaboration, and professional growth within the nursing community.

✨ Meet Olivia Nafarrete, Secretary of the Nevada Nursing Student Association for the 2026–2027 term.

Olivia enjoys stepping outside of her comfort zone and embracing new opportunities through leadership and involvement. She is especially interested in Maternal Health and Pediatrics, with a passion for caring for mothers and children during some of life’s most meaningful stages.

Outside of school, Olivia enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active at the gym, and finding peace through nature and adventure.

As Secretary, Olivia is dedicated to fostering communication, organization, and collaboration while helping support the work of NVNSA and nursing students across Nevada. ⚕️

✨ Meet Catalina, Treasurer of the Nevada Nursing Student Association for the 2026–2027 term.

For Catalina, nursing is deeply personal. Inspired by her mother, who always dreamed of becoming an RN, she entered nursing school determined to carry on that dream with her mother supporting her every step of the way.

Although she is still exploring which specialty best fits her interests, she is currently most drawn to wound care. Outside of school, Catalina enjoys drawing, painting, creating medical illustrations, traveling, and styling hair through her active cosmetology license.

As Treasurer, Catalina is dedicated to helping ensure NVNSA’s resources are managed responsibly while supporting opportunities that benefit nursing students throughout Nevada.

✨ Meet Dominic Vaughn, Vice President of the Nevada Nursing Student Association for the 2026–2027 term.

Dominic chose nursing because he has always been passionate about helping others and making an impact during difficult moments in people’s lives. His background in emergency response, public service, and the Army National Guard strengthened his dedication to patient care and advocacy.

Outside of nursing school, Dominic enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and staying active through fitness. Following graduation, he hopes to pursue a career in the Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit, where he can continue serving others in high-acuity settings.

As Vice President, Dominic is committed to supporting nursing students across Nevada while helping advance NVNSA’s mission of leadership, advocacy, and professional growth. ⚕️

✨ Meet Ashley Swanson, President of the Nevada Nursing Student Association for the 2026–2027 term.

With a strong passion for understanding and helping others, Ashley pursued nursing after completing her associate degree in psychology, combining her interests in mental health, advocacy, and compassionate care. Her long-term goal is to work in psychiatric nursing and eventually become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), where she hopes to make a lasting impact in patients’ lives through empathy and support.

Outside of school, Ashley enjoys going to concerts, cooking, and traveling, and proudly embraces every challenge with her “figure-it-out ADHDiTude.”

As President, Ashley is committed to supporting nursing students across Nevada while helping advance NVNSA’s mission of leadership, advocacy, and professional growth. ⚕️
