To the men who show up — not just on Father's Day, but in the small, daily ways nobody claps for.

The car rides where the real conversations happen. The patience to braid hair, tie a tie, or just sit in silence when words aren't needed. The way you make "I'm proud of you" sound like the most natural thing in the world.

You're not just raising the next generation. You're healing something for the last one too.

To every Black father, granddad, uncle, big brother, and bonus dad holding it down — thank you. We see the weight you carry and the love you lead with anyway.

🖤 Happy Father's Day, from your sistas at 1M4.

Your phone is already in your hand. The question is…is it working for you or against you?

As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to make sure the work doesn't stop when May does. Because real wellness isn't a 31-day campaign. It's the tools you keep coming back to, the community you stay plugged into, and the resources you have ready before you need them.

Swipe through for 4 tools we're putting on your radar, including some of our very own.

Which ones are already in your toolkit? Drop a 💜 if this post helped you find a new one and then click the link in our bio to join the 1M4 movement for free.

RP• When Taun Hall’s son Miles was killed during a mental health crisis in 2019, she could have stepped away from public life. Instead, she co-founded and became one of the most compelling voices in the country on what crisis response should look like.

She’ll be joined at our 2026 Advancing the Field of Alternative Response Convening by Melissa McKee who went from incarceration to policy work at the Olympia City Council, and founder of whose directory has connected more than 8,000 people to care-centered crisis teams.

Together, they’ll open our two-day gathering in Chicago with a fireside conversation: “What We Owe Each Other in Crisis.”

Nobody really asks Black women how we’re doing.

And even when they do, we've been conditioned to say "I'm fine" before the question even finishes.

But it's Mental Health Awareness Month and your timeline is probably full of content about self-care and therapy and healing. And sometimes that's a lot. Especially now. It’s the end of the school year. Mother's Day. The news. The pressure to be okay because the month says you should be working on it.

So we're not asking "how are you doing." We're asking: What do you actually need right now? Rest? To be heard? To feel less alone? To just sit with it for a minute without someone trying to fix it?

Whatever it is — this is your space. Drop it below. We're listening.

“I was just being polite" shouldn't cost us our lives or our liberty.

For Black women, the pressure to "comply" is heavy — but compliance is not the same as consent. So it's time we reclaim our boundaries.

We are the 1 Million Madly Motivated Moms teaching our families that their voice is a shield. We don’t just hope for safety; we plan for it.

Not just financially. We're talking about the tax nobody warns you about.

The energy spent code switching in rooms that weren't built for you. The mental load of navigating systems designed to overlook you. The emotional labor of educating, advocating, and protecting — yourself and everyone around you — while still showing up and performing excellence.

The physical toll of chronic stress that research now links directly to higher rates of hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and premature aging in Black women.

The weight of being seen as strong enough to handle anything, which means nobody asks if you're okay.

The cost? It's heavy. It's real. It's documented. And we've been paying the tab for far too long.

That's why this Mental Health Awareness Month and every month after it, we're doing the work to bring that cost down, sis. Because you deserve a community and world that not only sees the full picture of what you carry but knows the version of yourself you can step into when you’re not paying it.

What's the invisible tax that hits you hardest? Drop it in the comments. 👇🏾
