Honor Flight Southern Nevada

10/18/2026

Thank you to our friends & partners at America First Credit Union for the invitation to join them at today's Las Vegas Raiders game. America First Credit Union has been a long-time supporter of our mission. Even more impressive, they commit to sending two employees every flight to serve as guardians, ensuring their contributions carry lived experiences to bring back to their home offices.
They are a force of good in our community and for our Veterans. 🇺🇸

We have a special shout out the Leadership and members of Basic Academy of International Studies JROTC. Lt Col VanSlyke extended the invitation for us to present our mission to the Cadets. We thought no better representative to share our story than one of our HFSN Alumni, Lt Colonel Barney Wintermute.
The precision of the Cadets was impressive as they began our visit. Their questions to Lt Colonel were on point. A further shout out to this dedicated group of young people as they also volunteered for Mikel's Photography and Design the evening before our presentation and led the cheering squad at our Welcome Home on Sunday.
Thank you for the invitation to share our story and for your support.

A few months ago we shared a Veterans Writing Project put together by the The Neon Museum.

Two of our Veteran and one of our Guardian Alumni, along with other local Veterans agreed to be a part of the project.

Thank you 8 News Now for sharing the power of the project; and they are only half way through!

We are grateful to partner with the creative people at the Neon Museum, and the team they assembled to execute this meaningful experience for our Veterans.

Our heroes and their dedicated guardians are just about over the midwest as we post this secret mission. Shortly, our great partners at Southwest Airlines will allow us to take over the overhead annoucements. We will share with this full flight, that includes passengers from all over, just who they are sharing the plane with today. Each Vetran will have their name read, their service history shared and then... be presented their mailbag.
We call this MailCall- a simple, yet emotional call back to their service days when they awaited letters from home. Our MailCall contains letters from family and friends, community, organizations of all types, church and school groups, and literally come from EVERYWHERE! Over 2,500 pieces of mail were received, sorted and packed!
We would be afraid to miss someone, so we will not try to list them all. But we would love for you to annouce your group so everyone can share a hello.
COMMENT below if you joined the MailCall this flight. If you are a new group - WELCOME. If you are one of our returning writers - THANK YOU! This moment makes a huge impact. Let us all thank you together.
