After we’ve completed 100s of hours of court watching & seeing an endless number of landlords use NV’s summary eviction process as retaliation, we’ve decided the best way forward is to destroy Nevada’s public lands

President Joe Biden for your commitment to protect !!
Please help us tell President Biden to quickly follow through on his promise to designate Avi Kwa Ame a national monument. We need to hold him to his commitment and make sure that he keeps Avi Kwa Ame's boundaries that the Tribal Nations have requested. Sign our updated Avi Kwa Ame Petition here: http://sc.org/AKAnow

Our public lands, waters, and wildlife are for all to enjoy and protect. The Sierra Club has been at the forefront of the movement to protect Nevada's wild places to sustain healthy forests, clean water, wildlife habitat, and recreation opportunities. The Our Wild America campaign focuses on creating a national network of connected wildlands and marine areas to preserve Nevada's natural, cultural, and outdoors heritage.
For generations, family bonds and friendships have been forged and solidified on our public lands -- on the trail, around the campfire or the picnic table, casting a fishing line or stargazing. It doesn't take a Harvard study to confirm that spending time outdoors is good for one’s physical and mental health (although studies confirm exactly that.) No matter age, ability or experience, public lands serve to provide all people a place to retreat and an opportunity to sustain American wilderness for generations to come.
But today our public lands face unprecedented challenges, from pollution to development to mining and drilling -- all of which exacerbate climate disruption.
Our Wild America is ramping up opposition against threats to public land protections and the rolling back of environmental safeguards. When these places are protected from destructive development and climate disruption, they can be passed onto future generations. The campaign’s momentum and continued success allows the Sierra Club to serve its motto in the most direct sense-- exploring, enjoying and protecting the planet.
Our Wild America is currently working to advance three key goals:
Protecting Lands, Water & Wildlife: Advocating for preservation of public lands and waters and the wildlife habitat, recreation, and healing they offer.
Dirty Fuels: Preventing dangerous drilling, mining and fossil fuel extraction and infrastructure on and near communities and public lands.
Outdoors for All: Providing opportunities for all people to enjoy the various health and retreat benefits of the American outdoors, whether near or far.
Mission Statement
To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth;
To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources;
To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
