โœจ Assisting Lives in Las Vegas (ALLV), a nonprofit comprised of more than 350 member volunteers committed to improving the lives of children and adults in need, has elected its 2026โ€“2027 President and Board of Directors to guide the organization's philanthropic programs and community efforts.

Lilian Xu will serve as President from June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027. Xu, who built a career in investment banking, has been a member volunteer with the nonprofit for more than eight years providing structural and strategic leadership through a succession of roles across the organization prior to being elected President.

Each year, the members of Assisting Lives in Las Vegas elect a new Board of Directors to provide leadership and oversight for the nonprofitโ€™s operations, strategic initiatives, fundraising efforts, and philanthropic programs. Every member volunteers their time.

Assisting Lives in Las Vegas operates philanthropic programs such as Our School Boutique, which provides a weeksโ€™ worth of new clothing and shoes to thousands of Clark County School District students each year during special field trips to the nonprofitโ€™s headquarters.

Additional programs fund scholarships for students while other initiatives provide resources such as life jackets, clothing, hygiene kits, and other necessities to individuals and families in need. Together, these programs help remove barriers, create opportunities, and strengthen the community by ensuring families have the assistance they need to thrive. The nonprofit also operates the award-winning Assisting Lives in Las Vegas Thrift Shop to help support its mission.

"For 50 years, the members of Assisting Lives in Las Vegas have shown up for students and families in this community," said Xu. "The mission hasn't changed, but the world around us has. The best way to honor that legacy is to meet this moment with the same heart โ€“ and even greater reach."

Giving our puppets a second life! ๐ŸŽญโœจ

More than 50 of our child-sized puppets will have a new home with The Rainbow Company Youth Theatre, a nationally acclaimed, award-winning youth theatre program funded by the City of Las Vegas Government.

These puppets were once used to help educate students about important topics such as bullying, disabilities, and learning differences. Now, they will continue their journey by inspiring creativity and storytelling through the performing arts.

For more than 50 years, The Rainbow Company Youth Theatre has provided professional theatrical training opportunities for children of all ages. Its mission is to educate and empower young artists through inclusive, collaborative, and professional experiences in all aspects of theatre.

We are proud to support a program that helps young people build confidence, develop their talents, and discover their voices. We can't wait to see how these puppets help bring new stories to life for a new generation of performers! ๐ŸŽช๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™

โ˜€๏ธ Helping keep families safe on the water this summer! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿšค

This week, Assisting Lives in Las Vegas donated approximately 350 life jackets to Lake Mead National Recreation Area to help stock life jacket loaner stations located throughout the park.

This marks the fourth consecutive year our nonprofit has supported this important safety initiative, helping ensure visitors have access to free life jackets while enjoying one of Southern Nevadaโ€™s most popular outdoor destinations.

Many of the donated life jackets are sized for children helping protect the youngest visitors as they swim and explore Lake Mead. Drowning is one of the leading causes of death in national parks, making these life jacket loaner stations an important tool for helping keep visitors safe on the water. ๐Ÿ’™

A huge thank you ๐Ÿ™ to our members, friends, and supporters whose generosity made this donation possible! Together, we're helping make summer fun safer for everyone. ๐Ÿฆบโค๏ธ

Through every challenge, Sue provided steady, hands-on leadership that not only maintained stability but helped our nonprofit grow. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Thank you, Sue, for your dedication and unwavering commitment to our mission. Your leadership has left a lasting mark on our organization and the community we proudly serve. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘
