Lonnie Winston Memorial Scholarship Providing scholastic opportunities to Southeastern Community College Baseball Players

As a staple of the Burlington, IA community, Lonnie left his footprint in the SCC Blackhawk’s baseball program, the players, students, faculty, and friends. His commitment to excellence, drive and achievement was an inspiration to many on and off the field. In partnership with ALL PONO Sports, it is our mission to honor his legacy by providing academic and athletic opportunities to Southeastern Community College baseball players through his memorial scholarship fund.

SCC Baseball players earned ICCAC All-Region Honors on the season.

Players named to the first team are, Isaac Flamino, pitcher, Kyler Kaczmarski, pitcher, Kam Francois, infield and James Nydegger, outfield. The second team selections are, Keaton Fenn, pitcher, Chris Iannuzzi, pitcher, Grant Mather, pitcher, Efrain Osorio, infield, and Gavin Awbrey, infield. On the honorable mention team are, Danny Rollins, catcher, Sean Sanderson, pitcher, Jackson Petsche, outfield, and Jake Miller, utility.

Congratulations on a fantastic season and Region 11 Runners Up finish.

Congrats to John McVey on being named SCC’s next Athletic Director!
A familiar face around Blackhawk athletics for more than a decade, John will officially step into the role June 1 as Joe O’Brien prepares for retirement later this summer. We’re excited for what’s ahead for SCC athletics.
