The Stigma created by Societies Labeling process towards those inflicted with Addiction and Mental Illness is at an all time high. Most labels given to such individuals are rarely based on proven scientific evidence. Our Healthcare Professionals do not administer any type of medical testing in order to determine how one may get labeled into particular categories. Most labels are merely based on be
haviors and/or environmental statuses followed by an inclusion for a diagnosis. Medical professionals do not utilize scientific studies to create such labeled diagnosis, because there are no such tests available when it comes to clinical research pertaining to such diagnosis. This page will discuss how one may get labeled and the effects it can have on an individuals life as a whole due to the horrific stigma that is tied to such labeling. We will share ways by identifying what these labels mean, and what happens when we claim them as "Mine, MY disease, MY disorder, I AM, I have, I suffer with, I behave this way because I AM (just to name a few), and the power WE give such labels when claiming them as our own. This page will also educate others on Self Awareness, Core Issues and Identifying cognitive behaviors that may lead us to be labeled to begin with. Furthermore, we will learn how to claim our true Identity in order to move away from such Labels that Society has categorized us with. This is not a page claiming that certain individuals do not battle up against the atrocities of Mental Ill Health, because from my own lived experiences this is just not true. However, I've also experienced myself and through helping others that many of us tend to be misdiagnosed due to the similarities in symptoms between addiction and MIH and it is time to learn the truth behind Societies labeling system.
