Some names live beyond the moment they are spoken 🕊️

Memorial Day is a time we hold close to heart. We see families gathered in small circles, sharing stories that have been carried for years. We feel the weight of absence, and the strength it takes to keep remembering.

We honor the lives lost in service to their country and the families who continue carrying them forward in memory and love. Their absence is felt in everyday spaces, in the silence between conversations, in the way time keeps moving while remembrance stays still.

Today and always, we remember them.

Share their memory and join us in honoring their legacy.

A century of preserving Black history 🫶🏽🫶🏾🫶🏿

This February marks one hundred years since Black history was first gathered with care and intention.

Long before classrooms made space for it, Black scholars documented their own stories, preserved their own records, and insisted that their lives be studied honestly. What began as a focused effort to teach Black history grew into a tradition that continues to shape how the world understands the past and imagines the future.

Black history lives in traditions held onto, milestones remembered, and knowledge passed hand to hand. Each generation built on what came before, pushing truth into public view and refusing to let it disappear.

We remember forward by carrying those stories into the light, not as something finished, but as something still shaping how we move and who we become.

We’re also deeply thankful to .nv for making sure our families were taken care of with delicious food from and warm coffee and hot cocoa from those thoughtful touches made the day feel extra special.

Every veteran carries a story of sacrifice.

Some came home to children who didn't recognize them. Others, to neighbors who didn’t want to recognize them.

Some never came home, their memories resting in the hearts of those they left to protect.

Today we honor every veteran whose courage shapes the world we walk in. Their stories are woven through our streets and live in the spaces where families gather.

Today we remember every family who has served, bound by the courage and care of their service.

We remember. We honor. We stand together. 🇺🇸

September 11th lives in our nation’s memory as a day of loss and of courage. We remember those who never returned home and the families who carried that absence forward. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger, and the ordinary people who became heroes in a single moment.

What followed was a time when neighbors held each other close, when strangers became new friends. From the silence of grief rose the strength to keep going, and the commitment to stand side by side.

Today, we carry that spirit with us. In every act of compassion, in every moment we choose community over division, we honor the lives forever marked by that day. May we continue to walk toward a future shaped by peace, justice, and the dignity of our shared humanity.

09/10/2025

The undermining of constitutionally protected civil liberties that unjustly targets the Latino community cannot go unchallenged and without objection. Chicanos Por La Causa joins in the outrage over the Supreme Court 6-3 decision to lift a lower court order that temporarily halted federal agents from enforcing immigration operations based solely on factors such as race, job, location, or the language spoken. Perhaps Justice Sonia Sotomayor said it best: "We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low wage job. Rather than stand idly by while our constitutional freedoms are lost, I dissent." This is not immigration policy; this is racial profiling against Latinos, Asians and other people of color that runs counter to long-held American values. Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of equal treatment and due process for all, regardless or citizenship or documentation, are being eroded. Like Justice Sotomayor, we dissent. But we also hold out hope the Supreme Court will see the monumental error in judgement when this fundamental issue is reviewed by the justices again as legal challenges continue.
